TXD 686AF10110 ;reads OBDII MAF RXF 044145100000 ;the number 4 in the 5th position gives you two decimal RXD 2810 ;specifies scangauge to read 2bytes (0 to 655.35) MTH 000100010000 ; math is simple, multiply by 1, divide by 1, no adder This returns MAF readings in grams/second.

So,

horse power

hp crank = (mfr×60)
___________
(air fuel ratio)×(bsfc)

bsfc = brake specific fuel consumption, its not a single value, but a map, but lets assume 0.5
AFR = 12:1

= (22.7*60) / (12 *0.5) = 227 bhp

Note: the picture was taken idling. The lb/min display is a software bug. Only g/s is right here. Calculating any HP here is nonsense. ;)

I've done some maths and given an explanation of what I'm gonna do about MAFs here.

Someone please correct me if I am badly wrong somehow.

looks right,

i thought if you increase the X section across the maf sensor wire section by x % , and do the same for fuel injectors , you won't be far off and well within the ECU maps adjustment.

I have encountered a bit of problem with oil connections which are detailed at the bottom of this page. If you read my blog and can help please let me know. Thanks.

Also added some stuff about the Tial wastegate which is now mounted.

Went to Pirtek today and made some good progress on the oil feed + drain to/from the turbo today. Once this is sorted, the engine is almost ready to get lowered in .... oooh how exciting (for me).

Another mini update today has been added today. I spent around 4 hours in the garage and all I have to show for it is: 1: A connected oil drain pipe from the turbo. 2: A heat shield around the bottom of the turbo. These fiddly things really take up time, but are ever so important obviously.

I built my own 89 mm MAF today. Details here. I also found out today that my inlet camshafts will lift 10.77 mm and the exhaust side will lift 10.54 mm - quite mental, even if I say so myself. :wacko: Also a brand new charge cooler with super large inlet/exit holes is winging itself to me from Pro-Alloy. The last bit of good news is my oil pipe will arrive tomorrow. Over and out, Nev & Nipper.

std are fine ;) Crap selector mech but good strong unit I managed to kill some clutches on the M32 box but other than that loved it :D - find the F23 a bit tractor v's the M32 but just my choice DG Nev change it, they can be fine but tend to not like been fully depressed after been in use and the labour to change after is not worth it imo 10k is still quite a bit and you have already had 1 clutch change without it been done :)
