I agree 1st is way too short. I did wonder about 4th, tested to 140 leptons and that was enough. God bless the lepton What are your wheel sizes Nev out of interest?

My tyre cicumferances are within about 2% of OEM, so these aren't currently contributing to any lengthening of gearing. The reason I can get to 160 leptons in 4th is solely due to the wide rev range, and the fact my engine power doesn't tail off at high RPM.

Oh, I assumed he was interested in the rolling circum as we were talking about gear ratios.

F wheel = 18x8.5

F tyre = 245 x 35%

R wheel = 18x10

R tyre = 285 x 30%

Had some fun with an M5 and a RS4 today. Those RS4s are really quite fast, but not Vauxhall fast. I courtesly slowed down and let him have another pop which must have left him disappointed. ;)

Just looked up the RS4 spec on the internet, they are 440 BHP - no wonder they move quite fast. :o

Depends which year Nev but 414bhp for the 4.2 v8 flavour The Audi platform certainly make light work of using that power but always fun to leave them behind 😉 The really fast modded stuff in general take it to the next level, rs6 in particular with mods goes very well once moving A vx with decent power even today can embarrass a lot of serious expensive and quick machinery 😎 DG

God almighty, the latest RS6 has 600 HP! Although it is 2 tons, so only 300 HP/Ton.

The previous 5.0 litre turbo V10 had 580bhp and here in Switzerland you can pick them up for < £20k.

They have their engine in the wrong place though - swung out ahead of the front axle. Point and squirt cars, same as all VAG cars with longitudinal engines.

Here's a Bentley W12. It's a 911 in reverse.

I considered a Bentley W12 for a while but the work required would be insane!!

Got my lazy arse into the garage today to cut and weld a new steel bracket for the front of the bonnet.

The old 3mm aluminium bracket (used instead of the OEM hinge) was slowly getting metal fatigue where the force of the incoming 'rammed' air was lifting the bonnet up. I particularily noticed this the other day when I was pedalling hard against the RS4 (at a leptonage that would make Cocopop's eyes pop out of his head!)

Anyway, the new steel bracket is 4mm thick 316 steel plate and considerably tougher.

Such joy to have a welder to be able to do these things nowadays.

I have to admit when the RS4 was lining up for another pop, I flicked the power switch on (to get the extra 150 mid range HP and 430 ft/lb of torque) - that really is quite frantic and made sure he realised that Vauxhall was boss. ;)

If I ever go back to the mappers, I am tempted to get the last 5 or so PSI mapped into the ECU, just so that Lee and Haggie don't embarrass me with their mental new supercharged engines. B)

This is like an arm's war. Almost wish your car looked stock so it was more of a sleeper.
