...

When I get back from my holiday I think I'll go up and see their VX220, as it has some interesting developments on it which appeal to me.

I thought their power target was very restrained given the proposed engine work

It is a relatively low power target for their series, I think they are aiming at 300 HP/ton. However, they are putting some proper engineering effort into some other aspects of the car that I'd like to have a look around. Anyway I've been invited up and will likely go for a day or two in late Feb.

Bloody hell it's greasy and cold out there, nearly slipped over just walking out to the cars this morning. Was hoping to take Nipper out for a last run, but didn't in the end. Back in a couple of weeks, hopefully it will be a bit nicer weather and the salt will have dispersed.

I don't think our feeble winter sunshine is going to even register on your current thermal scale!

However I can lend you a "fashionable" jumper to keep you warm if you need, might go well with the biscuit for that full 1970s theme. :)

50+ year old male neighbour came round just now, as his son's car has a flat tyre and he didn't have a jack. So he asked me if he could borrow one of mine. I obliged of course, with an ordinary hydraulic trolley jack, even carrying it over to his car boot for him.

20 mins later I get a knock on my front door from his wife, saying that when he pumps it, that he can't get it to stay up !!!!

Jesus, how can you get to 50 and not even know how to use a jack, or at least have and insight to try turning the handle to make it lock? Another notch down for the state of humanity.

I'm wondering if the next knock on the door will be when his wife tells me he dropped the car on it's axle because he didn't know how to lower it correctly.

Saw this today and I was wondering for what type of person it was for. I had thought for drunks.

Jesus this country is cold, I got back from skiing for a couple of weeks only to find it's almost as bad here as the Alps  . Anyway, I managed to get out for my first early morning zip around Wales at this weekend, -2 degrees but dryish at least. Last year I seemed to get a bit bored of Nipper and didn't seem to go out much, but I am feeling a bit more enthused now and looking forward to the summer.

BTW, driving and skiing are really quite similar in many ways, if you haven't tried I'd really recommend it to anyone on here, fantastic liberating fun and really really beautiful. It's that control of speed that is much the same as driving, and the rush of adrenaline when things get out of shape!

8 AM and almost zero traffic in the middle of nowhere. :)

Below is a vid of us cruising a blue run. It's a shame that on the day after when we were on some red runs but the camera battery packed up every 10 seconds due to the cold (-18 degrees!).

just stick 10 degrees of ignition retard in and you will have all the heat you want if you open the bulkhead panel

No need for ignition retard, the panel could literally boil water when I'm pedaling hard, as the turbine is in line with it and only 6" away. The plastic bulkhead material (where some of my riv nuts fix to the pannel) has melted a bit in a few places, makes a nasty smell in the cabin which is Nippers way of asking me to take a bit more easy!

Really I need a turbine blanket, but they are stupidly expensive.

Anyway, even with air temps at -2 it was reasonably warm in the cabin. My heater still works a bit and the bulkhead panel does the rest.

Try zircoflex 3 on the panel. My cabin used to be like an oven, now no heat comes through and I've realised how crap my heater is!! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Isn't it unusual how pisted runs always look more tame when you are going down them. When you see them on vids or from a ski lift I always think they look loads steeper. Was going up a lift a few years ago looking at the run below me thinking my god that's brutal, it turned out to be a fairly tame red which felt fine going down.

Yea, sitting on a lift and looking down deffo makes them look steeper, I think it's because one is looking down on them at more of a perpendicular angle.

TBH the angle doesn't concern me, it's the number of people zig zagging about that is the danger. This year I hit a bloke quite hard and damaged his shoulder and my wrist, and last year I nearly hit a kid at high speed.

When I was younger and went out for full ski-seasons I used to drop couloirs and ice screes up to 70 degrees. A couple were so steep that they needed to be abseiled into and were fully committing with no possible margin for error or hesitation. This one had an unexpected vertical water ice section (ie a mini frozen waterfall) in the middle where the rocks narrow, though the top was only 48 degrees (from horizontal). It nearly killed me as it caused a 300 meter fall/slide 60 seconds after this pic was taken (hope you like my fashionable red ski suit!).

I once hit a similar frozen water flow, dug in the edge of my board and didn't slow down one bit. I had to swap round and basically lie flat on my stomach with hands on the floor to get a full 90 degree angle, only then did I start to slow. Definite bum clenching moment :)
