Find the correct nut and use bonded washers.

Thanks simon, yep that the sort of thing. I've found a plastic fitting with rubber washer (ie the washer looks good but I'm not keen on plastic fitting as it will die with the heat/time and maybe downward leverage from the weight of the hose +water in it). I would imagine the best solution is metal fitting but with rubber washer.

Finally went to A&E yesterday as my back was aching so much I could barely sleep, turns out I have a cracked rib and internal bruising. Not so compatible with getting in and out of Nipper at the moment.

Took the car out into the hills today for a couple of hundred miles. The new brake vacuum pump that I'd installed a month ago worked flawlessly according to the vac gauge I have in the cabin. Didn't get to test the TC as the roads had a good deal of traffic and I wasn't feeling particularly bold.

Oooh, Sunday weather looking good, currently planning a big 500 miler as I'm not committed some stupid social/family event.

It seems an age since I've driven hard in the dry.

I have explained several times in the past why I haven't been so keen on going to Scotland. It's a lot of motorway miles, which is not pleasant in Nipper and secondly I'd far prefer to wild camp than spend lots of time in hotels/pubbing/boozing. And lastly my experience of large groups is lots of faffing/delays.

Having said that, it's not out of the question one day. I've spent many many weeks up in Scotland in the past and love the raw scenery and drama.

Sheesh, it's that sort of supercilious remark that puts me off. I have no desire to meet some of the unpleasant people on here. And despite my best efforts Nipper might still be thrown off for noise unless it was a very tolerant track. When I had the exhaust tested when it was new it was around 99 to 101 dB(A) according to Castle Coombe, and since then the packing has no doubt blown to shreds, so it's bound to be louder.

Nev, we know each other, we have met a few times over the years.

Watching you isolate yourself because of .org which is meant to bring owners together. You have more knowledge of the z20let than most I'm sure and with increasing new members these events are changing.

If our paths cross I would always wish you well.

Scares me the higher number of requests for badges & oem parts, guess classic status has grabbed hold tightly.

Seems an age since I've driven Nipper (or even my humble Ford Focus plodder (as I cycle to work now)) and "dry time" seems so precious. Have been busy kayak surfing, rock climbing & mountaineering recently - so much to do in this life and seemingly so little time. some pics here and here (scroll down).

Managed to avoid Julie Andrews and Roger Moore this morning and got out for a short tootle before settling down to more eating and farting. I seem to be losing the battle of the bulge at the moment, looking fwd to cycling like fury to work in the new year and using my gym.

On the plus side it seemed very mild this morning, maybe we'll get a nice early Spring this year. :)

I looked at the slate wall/incline you were climbing and thought - hang on a minute - I recognise that, and then the rest of them. :)
