Good write up Nev and some great advice in there. Interesting how you prioritise a cam change. As you know, I'm still on stock cams but half looking to experiment with something different so would be interested to know your thoughts. Trouble is, nobody that I've come across has ever tried a change of cams in isolation, its always don't at the same time as head/valve work which makes it very hard to register what gains you're actually getting. What I would really like to do is spend a day at the dyno and test, say, three different profiles but to do that you need to find a cam company who actually cares about improving their product and not just selling their standard off the shelf stuff!
that'll be CatCams or Newman then.
Piper Cams were more than willing to help with the design of the cams I installed in Nev's engine.

That's an amazing plot, I've never seen anything like it before. Clearly your mapping is excelent, I am guessing that you are using the wastegate boost solonoid to control and keep the torque line so amazingly flat , something that can't be done with the stand Motronic 1.5.5 on mine
I wish I could afford your system, I'm sure it world turn my car from being nice to drive to truely wonderful. I am a programmer myself, so mapping a car is something I could understand easily and would love to experiment with the settings, sadly though I am not paid enough to buy such automotive luxuries
Is your car back together after your stripped it down a couple of months ago?
Its not that expensive, especially when you consider the available safety features which will save an engine when things go wrong. If you did the leg work yourself and just paid for the hardware its well worth considering.

Sadly, 'most' programmers I've come across that reckon calibrating an engine is easy tend to nuke the first one or two

can't remember if i'm running 8 or 9 but took mine out this morning, ran perfect, apart from the blowing exhaust manifold. Ran so well that when I met a Mclaren out for a test run it thoroughly embarrassed the big mac in a straight line and noise, got the thumbs up and a mimed f*ck from the test driver. :up
What sort of McLarren? One of the new Mcps42-prjs or whatever they are called ?!

I believe he won't be selling his front clamI see you're replacing the front clam. Will you be selling the original? Should be easy to shift.
