I nearly always wear ear plugs anyway due to all the noise from the engine bay, some more squeeling and scraping shouldn't be too much of a problem ;)

As I had a blown brake light I popped over to Halfrauds for a spare. I trogged around the shop, found the bulb, found some jubilee clips I needed and proceeded to the check out. WHAM - served by the most beautiful and lovely girl I've seen for a long while. She was all coy and shy and had the facial lines of an Elf, in fact she was so pretty my eyes didnt even gaze below her shoulders. :) I think I will find a reason to go back next Tues - yum yum !

Also, I have rung up my local fabricator to sound him out about welding up a couple of alu pipes in my engine bay when I strip the rear clam off it this winter for a few tweaks. This will allow him to make me: 1. A new 76mm hardpipe from the IC to the tophat (to replace the silicone bends). 2. A new 102mm hardpipe from my new airbox to the turbo inlet (to replace the restrictive 76mm pipe over the exhaust manifold). He seemed happy enough to travel out to my garage and mock it up in situe as the bends will be complex and need to offered up to the engine bay to get the correct bends/shape.

Hi Nev. Was that Halfrauds at Cribbs? I popped in yesterday to get some sealant, and thought the checkout girl was lovely. Also I think I spotted you about 7:30 last night at the south end of Bradley Stoke, and I followed you along Old Gloucester Road to Hambrook lights. Unfortunately I was in my housemates Clio and not in the VX.

If your car gets in F&F 6 and the film is a success just imagine what it might do for the popularity of VXes! :o . Joe public hadn't heard of the Skyline R34 until F&F shot it to stardom (and maybe gran turismo)

I am itching to re-vamp my brakes. Hopefully posty will deliver the new pads today so I can have a crack at working on the car tonight.

Well technically I think I saw her first!!! He He! I was thinking she's a bit young for me, which made me look up your age on your profile, and it says you are 75! So defo can't be too young for me. Ta for the offer of a chinwag. I'll take you up on that sometime.

Got back from work at 5.00 and spent 90 mins changing the rear discs + pads and fitting the bloody annoying wheel spacers (very hard to locate whilst holding the wheel up and offering up bolts simultaneously). Also glued some sacrificial mesh into position to protect the rear arch vents from stones picked up by the rear tyres. Anyway, just the g/f to move her jallopy off the drive to I can go for a test run. Fingers crossed. rallly

I only fitted the rears adn took it for a short run. There is more initial bite and perhaps marginally more sustained braking force. However, I didnt really bed them in and also I have yet to do the fronts this evening, which will do the bulk of the braking. Incidenatlly, I didnt hear any scraping/clunks/rattles or noise from them (yet!), though they are tight on the discs ATM and dont have any room to wobble about.

Wait until you fit the fronts :) they rattle like a b1tch so fit anti rattle buffers! I have some spare you can have but not back in the SW until Monday.
