Are you after a complete custom system - manifold to tip? I was chatting to a guy the other day about my car and he mentioned he was an aluminum fabricator, radiators, IC', Exhausts etc. He said he'd love to get his hands on a VX and build a custom exhaust, he'd then make up a jig so that producing many was easy! If I didn't need my car every day I would of thrown it at him! When I get home tonight I'll dig out his business card - PM me if I haven't sent you it by 9pm. I've put a reminder in my phone but I'll still most likely forget!

I wonder if just a 3.5" downpipe is all you need

If you really want to learn how to weld this set on ebay is 1xmig, 1xtig self darkening mask etc. with 7hrs left currently at £250 near to you in Weston-super-Mare

If I still had a garage I'd be watching it closely.

Thanks Dash, but it's only a DC TIG, I would need AC for narrow guage aluminium welding of boost pipes etc.

I have added 2 more sections at the bottom of my blog, one on a boring hard boost pipe, but the other on an exciting step into dynmical boost control for VX220 Turbos.

I may be mistaken, but I personally don't know of any VX220s that have in cabin boost control yet. If I get it all setup right and working with a few hundred miles of test driving, it will allow other VXT owners to do the same if they want and lower their torque/power for wet/damp driving :)

To be honest nev once you go standalone on the Adaptronic ECU the power delivery is just so smooth keep it under 3k rpm and its like driving a stage 2, though mine got a 0.6 bar spring in the MVR and if i pulled the pipe from the N75 that would limit my boost to about 8psi so if i really was in torrential conditions thats what I'd do thumbsup

Trevsked did/does, played havoc on his dyno day numbers at Slough. Also met a stage 4 or 5 VXT owner at a Snetterton trackday that had an electronic controller as well. Buggered if I can remember his username though.

Did any of them publish exactly what they did and the resulting effect? Would be interesting to rear up some more real world effects.

He's more on outsourcing al the work, but he will probably be happy to tell you on effect.

Ah Manus, yes he has done a LOT of work on his car. Once I get my hard pipe back this afternoon, I will put the car back together again and am keen to have a test drive while adjusting the boost controller :)

Nipper has in cabin boost control now! I am SO chuffed. There was a manufacturing fault with the MBC when I first went out for a test drive, so I could only select a range of 8 to 13 PSI. After stripping it apart and doing some pressure tests on the bench, I have now fettled it so it should allow full control of boost from 8 PSI to 21 PSI. Thus I now have control of the torque from an estimated 220 ft/lb to 400 ft/lb and hence power from an estimated 280 to 500 BHP. Drivability is truely excellent and smoother than if the electronic boost controller has control of the wastegate. With the boost setting low, it's a joy to rev it all the way to 8000 with really linear power delivery and no fear of spinning off a damp road. I just can't believe I didn't do this earlier, as it has seriously improved things for winter/marginal driving. All you stage 4 boys should seriously consider it for wet/damp driving. I hope to get it on a rolling road in the near future and do a range of pulls at various boost settings to proove to myself what I have done (and importantly to check the fueling).

Pics are on the website now, not that there is much to see. Hopefully I will be able to reveal my bigger and more expensive project items soon as they are now being CAD'ed up and machined ;)

I'm surprised no ones made one like this http://www.velocityf...gredgage300.jpg Or wouldn't it be possible?

Cos they look gash Aimy and impede a pillar visibility. Other cars use them as there is now where else, Nev has the best place currently.
