Data from my calibrated dyno today is on my blog here(scroll down).

I think quite a few of the Lotus boys were a bit dejected by their low readings. One poor guy had bought his a couple of months ago and was expecting circa 310 BHP but only got 230 !

Was nice to meet Mark (MBES2) again and some of the Lotus crowd who were nice and complimentary about their scruffy little Vauxhall cousins ;)

Thanks guys. It was a real shame that Chris Randal couldn't show (as he was moving house) as I had hoped to meet him for a good old chin wag and swap some ideas. On the plus side, I've just had an unsolicited/unexpected and very complimentary email from Tony Tait (Vauxhall BTCC car/team manager) about my project and Z20LEx. Also, on a plus note, I have sold my free flowing 3" exhaust system to a new lucky owner which will allow me to build my new 3.5" or 4" system for more efficiency. This will be a bit financially painful as bends > 3" diameter are crazy expensive, but I hope it will yield lower back pressure and better turbo spool and better power at high revs. Also, the design will have 2 configurations, the first being quiet (with big back box) so that I can get on less noise tollerant tracks, the second being a rather norty super 'freeflowing' screamer pipe.

The v70 do wear in a strange manor and they do wear out very quickly. I keep threatening to go back to 888's as they last ages but always find my self buying the kumhos when the time comes. Why don't you try the hard compound and see if they last any longer or if you can feel a loss of grip?

Thanks George. I think I will try the harder compound and see if they last better, but they will be harder to warm up I expect :(

It's suprising that they dont really warm up, even after a long 70 MPH run on the motorway I have got out and felt them and they are only cool (in current 5 degrees ambient weather).

if they don't warm up that can also cause more tyre slip = bad wear

I do know them, though they weren't spot on, as I have spacers on both the fronts and rears. Surely you'd only need to know if you were widening your bodywork a lot though, as you can't fit either the fronts or rears that I run with the standard clams. Are you thinking of buying a set of Lituanian clams as well ?

I know, this is the problem with tuning, it makes the cars so specialised in what they are good for. Mind you, in the summer/dry the grip is prodigeous with the fat tyres. Swings and roundabouts :o/

Not going the Lithuanian route, more home grown extended arches Nev. There should be room for 9.5 to 10 inch wheels at the rear but as I'm sure you well know it's all down to the offsets...ideally want to keep to a 17" diameter too.
