The bends we got were the tightest we could get. The problem is that as the diameter of the pipe increases so does the diameter of the bends. I think these were 1.5 D from GoodFabs who make the McLarren race car exhausts amongst other things. Getting bends down to 1.0 D can result in ripples and crinkles in the material. I am hoping that the sectioned profile won't restrict the gases from flowing in a moderately laminar way along the pipes. Even if they dont flow as perfectly as a smooth section, at least the new pipe is an extra 13mm wider. Still, I am hoping/expecting this thing will help flow at > 450 BHP, and also be a LOT quieter so that I can actually get the car onto a track. Ideally it will have a 4500 RPM static test < 98 db, as I know that the noise used to get mental once the revs got high (like 6000 RPM to 8000 RPM), which would get me instantly black flagged :( If there are still noise issues, Dan has promoised to open the box up again an install another baffle.

Company called processflow, link above to the bends. Great service also

Have an account with them if you need anything - straight comes in 6 metre lengths though

Thanks for that, they look good, but don't seem to supply 3.5" bends :(

I did think of 4", but there wouldn't be enough space between the gearbox and base plate to fit it in, so decided on 3.5" instead.

Thanks for the tips guys, but the bends are already bought.

Here is another pic, notice the 3" flange from the turbo increase upto the 3.5" nicely. Looks like lots of care put into the sectioning of the pipes.

Alot of work has gone into that pipe!

What gains are you looking at with this zorst?

How much bigger are you making the back box?

Did you have a db readout before? Be interesting to see how much it goes up by

Tubbies are lucky as you seem to not have the noise troubles that the sc boys have

Flol, Nipper sounds like a bomb going off under boost ;)

There sure has been some work gone into that though, the 3" ===> 3.5" on a curve must have seen some head scratching - I'm not quite sure what the inside of the pipe looks like though?!?

Yes, he has done me proud on the effort that has gone into it; took him 3 days I think.

Not wanting any more power/gain TBH, though it would be nice is the turbo spools slightly faster but I doubt I will notice the difference TBH.

The back box is medium size (approx 60% bigger than before, but 30% shorter than OEM), double internal baffled, 3.5" pepper pot holes inter-chamber pipes, stuffed. Previously at Castle Coombe it made 103.7 dB static. I hope to take it along ASAP and get it retested, hopefully the static will drop to around 100 dB. If not, Dan has promised to open the box up and fit another internal baffle. We shall see.

As for noise, when under load the engine can be heard for 1/3 to 1/2 of a mile away from inside the house (so my girlfriend says). Hopefully this will improve too.

Fitment is tight and it is close to a CV boot, so it has been wrapped once already. I will double wrap parts that are super close to anything plasticy/rubbery.

I have yet to offer up the floorpan, maybe I will have to make small cut outs in it to get it on.

Maybe it's time to get it heat coated (once the back box is at an acceptable noise level)
