Really good to see everyone today - what a great turnout once again from the VX crowd. Shame the rain was so bad in the afternoon. Nick - hope your VX is fixable without too much expense - I really felt for you when I saw it brought back in on the flatbed. Chris - perhaps I can have that passenger ride in the Europa another time? .... I got tied up trying to work out why my car was making funny noises (cracked exhaust manifold again I suspect).

Hi all
evening session was good not too much rain but still a bit twitchy!
2 red flags, at least 4 cars off - all elise's I think. 1 silver rear clam damage, 1 black back damage and smashed front into pit wall - lots of damage but driver ok. After that people took it a bit steady!
Some nice looking VX's there today, made mine look a bit scruffy! My last outing for a while got to take clam off and do some repairs from my pheasant damage. Hope to get it up to scratch for the spring, see you all then.

On the way down the m1 see a silver elise with duck tape holding rear clam together glad i didnt go by the sounds of things :(

And that one was hardly damaged compared to the poor sod who parked in the pit wall, an expensive evening for him bet he wishes he'd stayed at home!

Man did it rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Track only dried out for a short time but I had a few good spells out there before the clouds opened again and wiped out the day for us :(

The track looks to have dried out well for the evening session. Think they will have a loveley evening actually (hope so).

Loved taking out Cliffie's car and it made me feel better about my decision to go SC. Once my car is ready I'm sure I'll be quicker than when I had the other car, but it was tough seeing it turn up for the evening session with a different driver :(

The car was very good on track Jimmy - and it was thankful that I don't thrash it like you did! It was great to see you both again and actually great to put loads of faces to names.

Great track to drive - definitely do it again.

I'll post up a pic or two when I can work out how to do it!

What's the etiquette on posting pics of someone else's smash? A lotus totalled into the pit wall - big shunt, front and rear demolished as well as the wheels, airbags etc. Should I post?

Some would, some wouldnt. You could say that by going on track he lays himself open to having photos taken of himself and his car and whatever happens. Personally I wouldnt because I wouldnt like it done to me.

That's pretty much how I was thinking too.

The pictures portray the damage that can happen to one of our cars due to a small error and everyone should be aware BUT I certainly wasn't suggesting the posting for any unpleasant gloating - more thank god it wasn't me!

Sorry I couldn't help more Cliffie, was in a slight rush to get to that car! But was good to see you (and Fab/Max/Mark/VXTed [forgotten your name sorry!!] who were the only ones still around at that point!) and will try and make it to the next gathering wherever it may be.

I'll pop it over in the Gallery too, but here's a vid of me taking Cliffie's car out for a blast. It was great fair play and I had so much more confidence on a damp track than usual!! Chasing this Porsche was a laugh!

The evening session was great and like others have said just a couple of red flag moments. It is really sobbering hearing a car banging along the pit wall, but at least the driver was ok. I really enjoyed meeting up with you all again and I am so proud to be part of this team. Nick I really felt for you seeing you car looking so sick, but you still remained cool -what a professional. Imnotworthy I cannot wait to get back to Silverstone, what a great track, it has now been promoted to my favourite, I wonder if spa would beat it? And finally thanks to my good friend Dave for pointing the evening session out otherwise I would have missed one of the best drives of my life. Imnotworthy I cannot believe I forgot my video camera :beat: - what a plonker. Steve

Bit of a frustrating day today and sorry I didn't get many people out in the passenger seat. The morning was mostly too wet for slicks and too dry for wets and that stoppage in the afternoon took an age to sort out. Still, always nice to get out for a blast! Sorry to hear Cliffie has more problems... thought we sorted that after finding water in the electrics.

Chris and his team were soooo nice.

I was standing there scratching my bum while the lovely RAC man (who refused to tow me home as I had been on a track day btw) was totally failing to solve the problem when the Hoffman's truck and trailer hauled by. Chris stuck his head out and asked if I was OK.

They turned the rig around, parked up and descended on the car.

Three minutes later they had found the issue with water in a multi plug and got me going. Legends.

The bloody map sensor decided to pack up 500 yards down the road.

They could not have been nicer and more supportine.

Massive thumbs up for Chris and his team. Thanks everso and I hope I can repay the favour some time.

An interesting day, lots of people spinning without doing anything daft, it was just so slippery, and I was totally gutted when we realised Nick and Jo had gone off, but proud of how good all the vx ers are when someones in trouble, only wish I had skills enough to be able to muck in. Glad any drivers who had bad luck, were all ok. Was the least enjoyable track day I've ever had though, only rescued as a day by the good vx people and other freinds there. Martin s ps Just to finish it off, left at 3.30 to dodge the traffic but spent an hour almost static on the M40 then 40 minutes doing 5mph on the M25, got home after 7.30.

What a difference a day makes. Not a cloud in the sky. Yesturday was great in the morning, a drying track allowed some quick sessions. Afternoon was a write off but still had a laugh with Team VX. Highlight of the day was Cliffie doing his singing in the rain poof :D (sorry I couldn't stop when I passed you at the exit - the missus had just called to save we had water leaking through the ceiling :angry2: ) I hope Jo got a picture of it!!!! As ever the Team VX spirit was their in force :grouphug:

With the exception of Rockingham, I can't think of anywhere less enjoyable in the wet.

Thankfully Jo is fine this morning, so thanks for all of your concern. Surprisingly, it's not put her off in the slightest. Hopefully Nick is also not suffering too much this morning. She did mention something about a picture of Cliffie and some form of rain dance, so will get her to dig it out.

Sh!t, sorry to hear this Mike. Sounds like we need to come up with a way of properly waterproofing all of these connections after Max had similar, earlier in the day. Also sounds like a spare MAP sensor is a must for the bag of spares.

thumbsup to the Hofmanns crew.

Glad you all got some track time in...looked like a good day (in parts). That's what makes this forum so special though, how everyone chips in and are so supportive. Hope everyone is well. :grouphug:
