:D) hast du nichts was man wirklich brauchen kann? :D

Ok back to topic:

Powdercoating variants:

In addition to the std silver color (can be seen on the first picture, with the red caliper)
following variants can be chosen (for 50€)
Sorry for the confusion, there is no sation OR gloss black.
The only available is the one below.
The wheels are the Rial GTR, but colors are identical (they are also distributed by ATS)

So now, I think everything important is said.
If still anything is unclear, just ask.

Hi, slightly more expensive. check www.vx-performance.de Yes they are nice, although, on the pictures with the colors they really don´t look good imo. Appear much better when fitted.

Looks like the interest is quite low? Doesn´t match the postings which could be seen in any thread conatining sme pictures of cars where thes ATS where fitted. Also got pm´s regarding the wheels. but now? Any specific reason? or ist it really that you all are so aware of putting 17" fronts on your cars? kind regards

I'll post a link to this thread on the Dutch forum to gauge interrest. It's not that I've a second set in mind, but the deal seems very good. I hope it works out.

Think Im going to have to pull out as there isnt much interest and the money might be better spent on getting onther TD to match my three that I already have...

These do work out as expensive wheels plus they are not available in a 16" front so therefore offer no benefit over the standard wheels other than looks. There are options in the UK that offer both asthetic and handling improvements for the same if not less money so I can only assume that is the reason there has been no take up. Don't take it personally, group buys are a difficult and thankless task

Not a problem at all! chinky chinky Just I´m just a little bit surprised, after all the reactions in any thread the wheels could be seen on a picture (even if the thread was absolutely not about the wheels). But hey that´s fine for me. About performance: I really don´t want to start a 16vs17 thread, but that there is no improvement over the std wheels, well that is definitely wrong. Beside that I have had a this combo on my previous NA (which was MUCh better than with the std. sizes), but that is still from the personal point of view. I would just like to add, that the so equipped Projekt Opel Speedster Turbo (VX220 T) has stated the benchmark (laptime in hockenheim) for all elise-chassis based cars in the german "Sport Auto", which is on eof the best magazines when it comes to reproducable and comparable testing procedures. With only 265 hp, it sets laptimes on the level of Porsche GT3 RS, Zonda S, GT2, Gallardo etc. etc. speeds in "slalom" (round cones) was nearly the same as on the Carrera GT! the only car with an elise chassis which is faster is the 2-11 and I don´t think that these are comparable.... The Exige Cup 260 also got a worse time on track (only a little however)! :saw: So on a track I think this combination is very fast! It might be that on very bumpy roads, the lighter 16 " front is working better, but on a flat track. i doubt. Just to say a word regarding this topic :) However, I think this thread can be closed then,. Cheers ;) chinky chinky

Servus Michi, wo ma di ueberall trifft? ;) Tuat ma lad, dass da net soviel Echo gibt, aber war bei meiner Diffusorgschicht aehnlich... troest Dich :D

Well folks, as I am driving my Tubby with those DTC for two seasons now, I can only tell you that this is the best thing you can do to your car, if you are a serious racer or at least sports car enthusiast. Sure, if you only take a ride to the ice cream parlor, the standard wheels will do their job, too ;)

Nevertheless, the wheels were the first thing I changed after buying my Turbo, which was not modified at that point. I changed the wheels after 3 weeks and I chose the DTC, because first of all they are very light, second they are really handsome (my favourites) and third they are broad enough to provide some serious tyre dimension. I use Toyo 888s in 215/45/17 in the front and 245/40/17 in the rear. You could actually also take a step down on 205 front and 235 rear or 215/235, but in fact I can't imagine how to really drive fast with a narrower dimension than that. I paid over 1000 pounds for my wheelset in April, 2008, so these late prices are a real bargain.

I'm not writing this because I receive any commission from Michael (although he's an Austrian, too ;) ), but I just see how hard he tried to resolve all doubts here. I can't really get the point what counts against these wheels. By the way, you have to know that here in Austria it is WAYS harder to get any modification on your car road legal than in Germany or Great Britain. For example, you'll never get an Ariel Atom on the road here, because there are sooooo many (unbearable) restrictions. But I had my set of DTC registered and legalised within 5 minutes, which underlines the perfect match to our car. There is a certificate of strength for this wheel that shows the proof of being tested on cars like the Audi A4 or Vauxhall/Opel Signum. Those vehicles weigh almost the double of the VX, so you don't have to worry about the rigidness. Another benefit is that these are already milled to the perfect offset, so you don't have to deal with any adaptors or distances.

Just my two cents...

Hi all, I have Rial GTR's fitted I bought them from Uwe at VX Performance and they are a quality wheel, I opted for Kumho's 205/45/17 front & 235/45/17 rear, the price quoted is about 150 pounds less than I paid in 2009. Cheers Ian

Yes, both the RIAL and the ATS have had a drop in their prices. The ATS are now regularely 839 Euro and the RIAL cost 999 Euro. The RIAL are even broader (front wheel is 8 inch instead of 7,5 at the ATS) and slightly lighter. But I prefer the ATS, because I like their design more.

You should not worry about the rigidness of the ATS rims. I've been driving with them on the Finnish "potatofield" roads and also in the very poor roads in the Balkans with no problems at all. Only problem for me has been the wider rims and lowered suspension together cause a need to cut the plastic cover inside the front wheelarch. Tyre tends to rub it when full turn steering happens. There is a solution for that problem in the market, so everything can be solved with a bunch of money. You can find a few pics in the members gallery about my black speedy with gloss black ATS DTC rims under: lowcalis speedster

The ATS company said to me one month ago they do not provide the DTC anymore... Do you confirm they can produce new ones ?

That's a good question, indeed. I just asked Uwe Regelin, who currently supplies (beside Karsten Dempert) the DTC in our special offsets. He had a post according to a new delivery of a couple of sets in March, so I'll try to find out whether he will be able to order single rims or sets in future or if this is the officially last pack of wheels... I'll post his answer here.
