wonder if it's worth/possible to change the 5th gear ratio for something longer?

Would be expensive. Turdo box is a good shout.

Don't forget that if you want to change engine to drive wheel ratios (ie what a gearbox does), you can alternatively increase/decrease the wheel + tyre circumference which does exactly the same thing.

some F23 V6 gearbox internals might be a better bet, same gear ratios but with a 3.84 Final Drive - ident SK

 

z22se Final Drive = 3.95

z20let Final Drive = 3.63

 

The 4.17 final drive makes a big difference, so the vxT might be too great a jump if going the other way with final drive ratios
