Hi Fred.
How is the passenger footrest catered for? Is it just a case of taking a stanley knife to the carpet to cut out sections for the footrest holder.

Also... unrelated, do you know what those red inserts are in that footrest in your pictures? Edit - Just realised they're not your pictures! Dab-of-oppo, if you are reading, they do look good!

Ta.

They are just bits of leather I glued to the back to match the rest of my interior.

The foot rest is removed by undoing 4 bolts accessed from underneath the car. You then replace it on top of the carpet it can be a bit of a pain lining it up and pushing the screws through.

There is that option, OR you can use the csrpet tot rimover the footrest which is what i imagine most do. I know i have so theres no bare metal on show in the interior :) The carpet set will fit over the footrest and curve around nicely with no trimming or as mentioned you can remove the footrest and refit.

Are these mats still made of the rubber backed stuff, so non-breathable? My VX had corrosion on the alu floors under the fitted carpets due to trapped moisture, so carpeted VX-ers should take notice of this...

Do you mean like the standard over Matt's? No there's no rubber on the back but I'm sure Fred will confirm
