Fantastic trip, the weather was fantastic on the day and the track was still as good as i remembered it. Great bunch of people - a laugh a minute. Our trip on the ferry wasn't as eventful as the tunnellers but a lot more relaxing by the sounds of it. I think my cheapy spy camera went south so might not have any video :angry2: See most of you in a few weeks time.

Oh my.... Just examined the vids and the 'one' is pretty special in full screen glory. 8mins of evil goodness.

A great example of what not to do on sooo many levels!!! Note to self.. Warm up tyres before going ape! I've already been stopped from playing with MartinS and now I think I will be told not to play with Cliffie either!!

I'll get a copy up on YouTube tomorrow. V Box DID actually manage to get a session in before it filled the SD card (do you want me to format it now Mike for next time..? Your Rockingham vids are filling it up). Got a 2:02 on there too which is cool, but a 2:01 on my PBox B)

I don't want to go to bed, as then it will all 'officially' be over :(

So the first 'International' went well. I might be creating another annual job for myself

We do not play well together and should not be allowed on track at the same time; I was the luckiest sod alive on Monday, I had eyes closed and was braced ready for the impact. I remember opening my right eye, just a fraction to see what had happened and where I was and what I had hit and then the feeling of relief when I realised I was still in one piece. My spin was your fault..! Haven't quite worked out how to blame it on you yet but working on it.

Please format the card ready for the Rock, I wont need either SD cards till then so hang on to them if you like. I saw a 2:01.9 on your Perf Box when I had it in my car so we are evens again. I still have 22x 2p, 1x 5p and 1x 1p waiting for you. There is a sub 2 minute out there and I reckon you would have nailed it given more time... still there is always next year.

just found out that the card was full on my cheapy camera (no way of telling) but i did get some vid when dee was driving. So embarrassing, poor girl can't believe i put her through that. She was as nervous as hell and i thought i was being kind, understanding and considerate but playing back the video shows that it didn't come across like that :shame: I was like Ali's instructor at the National :shame shame:

It is not as easy to instruct as it looks. You know the way round, the right lines and how to drive the car and can easily explain to somebody over a cup of tea sat round a table but trying to do it "live" on circuit in a car whilst it is actually happening is really tough.

Not shame, Chris, good on you for getting Dee to try it out; Martin S did the same for Lauren.

As ever a great trip, took me a few sessions to get into the track, but once I had, absolutely loved it. Glad I let Lauren take it out, but it was her first ever proper drive in the vx let alone driving on track, so a hell of a place to start, even her spin didnt bother her (did me though!!!). Good nights out, though how the Monday night came good was near on a miracle. Cant believe I'm driving back there in 10 days time, then the national, see you all there, thanks for a great weekend. I thought the circuit had some great landmark features to judge braking , turn in lines etc. I found a lot of the chewing gum marks on the track really good to use as reference points. The worry about big gravel traps might have been over stressed as I thought the circuit was forgiving for errors, (fortunately no spins here) , plus a lot of the kerbs were more bark no bite, bar the chicane after the white bridge. Trickiest braking point was turn 1/2. You could carry massively scary amount speed if you went very wide to the left on approach, then really hard on stoppers to get the tight left chicane tidy for a good exit under the Dunlop bridge. I liked the adverse cambers and some of the corners with a lot of positive banking, you could really chuck the car in and power through it.

Funny you should mention that corner. I have a vid in about five minutes, but see Cliffies comments below

Mike Silverstone will be close!! You were actually quicker than 2:01.9 and I was a tad slower than the 2:01.00 I thought I had. The extra decimal place reveals that you did a 2:01.89 and I did a 2:01.09 so you just gained a 10th on me

I'll paste up a screenshot of the speeds involved and you will be amazed how similar our cars are!!! The accelleration gradients are identical! Only lines seperated us.

will format the cards and pop them in the post as I'll only forget otherwise....

WHAT A DAY!!!!

Hello all. Great to see so many VXs in Le Mans - great weather, great people, great fun.

Fab and Ali - thanks for getting the t-shirt/stickers to me....and Fab I have to say I loved your stylish entry into the Eurotunnel....with the top down and (french?) music blaring (was it Jean Michel Jarre?) .... it was truly a case of French style :P thumbsup - top stuff.

Here is a video I took: http://www.vimeo.com/12217073

Based on the vid, think my fastest lap was around 2 mins 2 secs. I think my manifold might be cracked again cos the car was losing power on the back straight - anyone else get this? :(

...and here are a few photos:
