Always takes me 3 ProAlloy tanks worth (took 2 in the Audi three years back). It really is a hard slog down there and as The Knobs said, it'll definitely take longer than you think unless you do really silly speeds for a fair distance.

Les Flics will hopefully be catching up on their sleep for the mass arrival of the Brits the week after where they'll be banking some easy money for Christmas. They may publish where they are planning to be on the side roads, but they were scattered all over the place for the LM24 runs. Twice last year I had a lucky escape. One guy was in a ditch at the side of the road and another was on a little slip road that went immediately down from the autoroute. Both were armed with lasers and were at about eye level to the road. Did go past a Police Scooby on the N138 at a fair old speed aswell but, I think they might have been having lunch.

Still not sure whether the toll booth to toll booth timing is an urban legend, or not. But, I've seen cars being stopped at the toll booths and pulled to the side.

hare or tortoise then , do you go for 4 sprint races 3 stop strategy, or brim full from the tunnel and full tanks to end of race. :)

As an SC boy are there any things I should take such as a spare belt? I guess I should really keep one of these in the car anyway?

The only way I will get 260+ miles from a full tank is to push it halfway there...

1st year with a convoy stopping for fuel when people were running low, nearly 8 hours to get there. Traffic should hopefully be light being a Sunday and if you go the direct Autoroute rather than sight seeing route you should make reasonable time. Its a bloody long trek for 1 day though so i will probably go to the double header in August. Track is huge and the parking behind the pits is a massive concrete jungle, pretty special place.

I'll have a spare belt or two, left from Le Mans trip last year. thumbsup A few litres of your preferred oil. Gaffer tape, cable ties, a handful of fuses, tyre pressure gauge and ickle tyre inflater. Maybe an extra can of tyre gloop. Some basic tools, a small torch and that's about it. All the rest courtesy of the AA.
