Have all the gear now to renew brake fluid, but cannot find out exactly how much fluid the system takes. I have 1.5 litres but what is the capacity of the system?

A bit under 1 litre - say 900'ish mils. 1.5 litres will give you enough to flush through the remains of any of the previous fluid.
