Has anyone used or seen one of these being used?? It just fits width wise under the car but had to put it on some wooden blocks to get it under the car first. Will take some more pics tomorrow when up in air. Martin

And is it safe? For both the car and the user :) (I mean for the VX in particular - akward little cars of ours!)

Its been up and down a few times before sticking head under neath. Apears to be safe enough but it does recomend chock it up just as you would with a trolley jack. It just fits under the car and is as far forward i could risk. I could make wider platforms so it could go further forward but getting the gearbox removed is No1 priority at the moment. They were £465 on ebay deliverd but found then in classic car weekly for £400 delivd. Will try and find advert /contact details ( i have nothing to do with the selling company !!)

How wide are the plates that sit under the car, It looks very close to lifting it on the fibreglass sill rather than the chassis, but i gather its ok?

Friction. I'd love something similar to that but not sure about lifting the VX along the length of the sills like that.

It shouldn't be pushing on the fiberglass sills. Those are a couple of mm higher than the bottom of the tub. I think this should work fine, as long as you are careful with the area behind the seats (middle undertray, shear panel, and unsupported bits of sill). However, remember the C of G is very far back - especially with no front clam.
