Would love to do my headers but cant be bothered with removing it, is it worth doing just for the u bend and pipes out of the back box, as I have a new back box to go on this weekend. Apparently the hotter the cat the better, so wrapping this may also be worth doing, is that right all you techie types.

Jim V is 'adjusting' the one I had last time as the back box was too big. Have now had a proper look and you could easily wrap the complete cat, bend and end pipes, but that doesnt really reduce the temps in the engine area much, but would mean I have a cooler boot. Ideally its the steel 4-1 manifold I'd like to wrap. Is it ok to wrap the cat? Martin s

I personally wouldnt wrap the cat section. Mainly because they can get too hot and melt/fail/lose cating abilitys. It would be better to simply fashion a nimbus heat sheild around it and perhaps guide some air at it.
