Adjustable Blade Anti Roll Bar Kits

The VX220 ARB kit was developed by Cornering Force to compliment the adjustment currently available in aftermarket dampers and enable users to easily adjust cornering balance at all stages of a corner.

The kit was designed by analysing the car in the workshop enabling us to calculate suitable spring, ARB and damping rates. We tested and refined these on a data logged VX220 using a professional race driver.

The kit that has been developed from this work comprises;

Front ARB
Blade adjustable bar mounted in Delrin blocks. Adjustable stainless steel drop link on one end (using high quality rod ends protected in rubber boot) and standard VX220 drop link on the other end.

Rear ARB
Rear bar has 3 mounting holes at each end for adjustment. Like the front it is mounted in Delrin blocks and has the same drop link arrangement. The rear bar is mounted on stainless brackets that bolt to the lower wishbone attachment bolts.

Cornering balance can be adjusted between over/understeer by a small change to the blade angle. This is done in seconds just by rotating the blade with a 19mm spanner and requires no dis-assembly.

The development of this kit was featured in the December 2009 Total Vauxhall magazine as seen here:

Buying a kit

The ARB system is designed to work with specific springs and damping and it won’t perform as intended if you don’t use the settings that we recommend.

ARB Kit

The full kit costs £595 but will be offered for a short introductory period at £525. Fitting can be carried out either by;

Cornering Force (cost is £250 including tracking and corner weights)
Your trusted VX220 garage
Or you!

Springs

If you don’t have the right spring rates then you can buy them easily in the marketplace (we can tell you the rates you need). If you buy them from us they will cost £120 a set and we will buy back decent old ones at £5 each.

Dampers

Damping rates need to be set and balanced to suit the springs and ARB kit – this means they do need to be adjustable.

We can test dampers on our dyno and (if it is within their range of adjustment) we will adjust them to suitable and balanced settings. We will supply laminated dyno force/velocity graphs for each damper for your information and use (this can be done “by post” and costs £20 a damper plus return postage).

If it is not possible to adjust dampers to a suitable setting then we can usually rebuild (new seals/oil/regas) and revalve at around £80 a damper (depending on the make) with any return postage charged at cost.

If you need new dampers then we are really happy to advise and supply a wide range of makes to suit your budget. We would set these up for you and supply them with dyno graphs at the normal retail price of the dampers in the marketplace.

We will buy back most makes of adjustable/rebuildable dampers and may therefore have second hand ones in stock.

Testing and set-up

If we fit your ARB kit then, with prior arrangement, we can go to a local test track and have a private set-up session with us (i.e. just you on track).

This helps to make sure the set-up works properly, gives us a chance to make sure you understand how to make suitable adjustments and is also quite good fun…

This cost £120 for an hour session.

Alternatively, we can go for a drive up the road and that costs nothing!

And finally…

We are always happy to answer questions over the phone or by email.

We will fully support any products that you buy from us and will make sure that you get the very most from them.

Please add your name to a list below, the reduced price is available for a limited time only and will be increased in increments, probably after a month.

Myself, SteveA and Techieboy have had the kit fitted thus far.

I was using them in anger at Stowe the other weekend Steve and the only car I didn't get past was a bloody quick grey supercharged S2 Exige. Was all over the back of him and everything else through the twisty section at the back of the circuit. Felt much flatter through that section than the cars in front looked, including the two Elise Trophy cars. Could really have done with winding it up a notch or two to see how that affected the balance but didn't have a stubby spannner to do it with and then the gear cables melted.

Sorted the spanner for Anglesey but other events put paid to that.

Matt I know what you mean, from my brief stint at Bedford it looked like all the cars in front were working a lot harder in the corners, really leaning into them, whereas I was sitting behind them thinking "what's the drama?".

I think I scared Jimmy quite a bit

Got his Racelogic in my car for a few laps at the end, even with light traffic I was into the 1:22s. Wish i'd got it in earlier as I'd had some quicker clear laps the previous session. Off to Tockwith this afternoon for more testing thumbsup

I was tempted to try it without the springs. He will do the springs for you to suit the Sachs, but I am pretty sure that you have to get different spring perches which are hard to find/£££.

I'm waiting for Simons mail to give a total price of a complete kit with Nitron superstreet shocks. He has done a few with the NSS. If they are on this forum, let me know if you like the setup. I think it would be Price/perfomance wise the best choice.

Is there a way to order these with shipping to Sweden from Cornering Force? Or is it possible to order them from a webshop somewere? the Cornering Force website seem a bit dysfunctional, the contact page is "404"... Are they still in business? Anyone have a mail address? I have access to all sort of help here close to home for the setup so I basically only need the kit.
