dont think previous owner could be involved as I bought it from a vauxhall dealer Crime Ref: 20\wv\74451D\10 be surprised if they came back for the saab, not much I can do as its no use to me, saab cannot fix the spare key set so its a complete alarm change (more than the car is worth). almost more annoying than losing the VXT which is fully insured at least.

Sorry to hear this; it's most unusual for a VX to be nicked as they are so rare and much more noticeable. That said, stealing the keys but leaving other items often means it's stolen to order, because it's not like it will be used in a getaway like an R32 or RS4. I'll keep an eye on eBay as well - there is a chance it will be split into parts and sold - look for a sudden splurge of 220 parts all from the same seller.

Stolen to order is very likely. Havnt we had quite a few people recently asking about importing to Australia? Anyways, high chance its either broken down or on a container ship

cops did make me laugh, said it might be used as an armed robbery get away car, can just see 4 burley armed robbers, and their weapons trying to get into the car quickly, can just imagine the exchange, sorry mate, only room for 2, best you start running :9mm:

It's a turbo, it'll probably go off the road backwards at the first corner. :P

Sorry, bad taste. Very sad to hear about it but glad you and your family are unharmed. thumbsup

You can imagine them trying to roll the roof back to get in quickly then ripping their trouser pockets on the door pins. :D

alarm did not help, they had the keys and alarm fob, keeping them separate might have worked as the alarm would have gone off when they tried to start it down the road (think they pushed it away)

I am really sorry to hear about your car you must be gutted. I agree with the other posts sounds like stolen to order for parts or to ship abroad. It may turn up, but I would keep an eye on ebay for parts.

B*stards. Little comfort but I hope your insurance co play ball and pay out a decent value for the car and quickly. Was it kept on the drive / road and so could have been opportunistic? If they broke into your garage to get it then more likely they'd targetted it in advance.

Hot off the press, our much maligned boys in blue have found the car, un damaged about 4 miles away in a secure (electronic access)car park. They believe it was stolen to order, and parked up awaiting to see if it had atracker (as someone suggested earlier) even better my laptop was in it. many thanks for the posts chaps will start a new thread about it being found and lessons I've learnt from the experience

How the chuff did they find it? Whose car park was it as im guessing it is only accessable by a few people.

Really pleased for you although have you got the other keys back too?

Make sure the insurance database doesnt log it as stolen once you get it back otherwise it'll not be hpi clear thumbsup

I have tracker stickers in my windows, hoping there a good deterrent

The police said 'they stumbled upon it' it was not reported as abandoned by anyone. they alluded that there were known car thieves in the locality where it was found. It appears to be a common activity around here, what i dont understand is how they knew I had it, I've only had it about 5 weeks, live in a cul de sac off of a dead end (no one passes), just shows you dont know who drives and walks around (we have about 3 scrap metal men who drive round at least once a week for example), all the cahirty clothes vans, leaflet droppers etc

Or at least give the criminals something to look for!

I was surprised I never found the tracker in my VX, there would seem to be very few places to actually hide it, compared to most cars!

Great news that it was recovered!
