My air filter is bad I have replaced it with a temporary cone filter but would like to get one which is designed for high BHP any links or suggestions welcome. Think Lee mentiones cosworth ones

I have always been happy with K&N onesK&N filter

I got a massive cone filter from CS which I've been pleased with :) Basically it is a case of the bigger the better I would imagine? but make sure it isn't a foam one because the suck of the supercharger will pull it flat thumbsup

Not really, all depends on where it's fitted ie too big and you not get good flow into it and if it's too big you'll get unwanted turbulance in the inlet, more of a problem if you runinng a AMM ;)

I've always liked the APEXI Power intakes clever design and good filtration clicky, PM duncan_VXR as I think he found a good supplier.

I have a cosworth K&N filter on mine. Its a large 18"long by 10"dia at the base. Its a single cone but twin cone ones are available for stoopid power cars. I found this a comfortable fit in the VX whilst allowing good airflow to it. Cost me a tenner but I had to service it.

Apexi. All the way. Some filters offer the same power gains, some offer the same filtration, but never both. K&N will filter coarse gravel, and that's about it. There is a good and scientific comparison available on the net if you hit Google.

Been having a good look and maybe the Apexi could be what I am after. Best place to buy Apexi then? need a 90mm adapter though, maybe even bigger with the LS4 TB

Remember the Z20LET ecu conversion though. You'll be needing to accommodate an 80mm AMM somewhere between filter and throttle body. thumbsup

wonder if you can write the AMM out of the ecu?

I think they can write the AMM out but Jon really wants to use it as it means they will be able to map part throttle response much much better than they can with just a MAP sensor. That's one of the things he is really looking forward to as a result of the conversion. Maybe there's a 90mm Bosch one of some hyper Audi, or similar.

can I take it from that that the Z20Let ECU can manage both AMM and MAP?
