On closer inspection the saab 95 uses the same system and the parts are easier to find.

Most people are on the CS supplier blue filter.

I'm about to try a Saab 9000 filter with a decent paper filter.

It was A LOT trickier then I first said...... Sorry.
I did try all the parts and it looked OK but when I tried to fit them all together at the same time.
It's tight.....
And a little heavier then I thought really.

An alternative would be a bit of re-engineering using the original airbox as a template and building a new enclosure for the filter using plastic piping.

If only someone had re-engineered the VX airbox to completely remove the restrictions, retain the std paper filter, & had it dyno proven...

Get an SC'd car round to Dave's for him to measure up and it will! (he might even sort you all out a new inlet manifold whilst your there as well! :P)

You could have saved time and fitted an NA airbox, it flows better than the VXT's to start with. :P

Almost anything must flow better than a std VXT air box!!! It's moulded to fit round the suspension strut tops of an Astra FFS! you only have to look at a filter thats done a few thousand miles to realise that only about 1/6th is actually used...

depends on how big a filter you want, you can put almost any size on, all you do is get an adapter for the diameter of your pipe work.

i.e. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2a05977074

Big air filters are really important for tuned cars. I still can't get over how much difference my simple airbox change made to my car, and would heartily recommend getting as much flow as you can in your car.

I've just been thinking about that and you're about right, give or take half a year. :P As i was typing that about the filter i was thinking, this is perfect ammo for Matt to have a go about actually driving it or even firing it up..... of which i've done neither

:D You should get together all the bits you've got and take them down to the guy Cliffie just posted about and get him to fit remove all the old stuff and fit the new bits. Having done it myself, I'd happily pay £360 not to have to go through it again (although it should all come off easily now). :beat: I'm just about to SORN mine, from the tax renewal at the end on the month, so no comments about driving it.
