So... I somewhat hinted that my VX220 would be for sale, I even did a bit of a preliminary advert but here it is now, actually up for sale. I was hoping to get the front end resprayed before selling but just haven't got round to it and can't really be bothered trying to sort alternative transport whilst the work is being done so I have reduced my asking price accordingly.

The Lotus steering wheel center has since been replaced with a 'VX220 Supercharged' one and the metal gear gate has gone too - now a leather one.

These seats don't look that comfortable but I actually find them much better than the standard ones - the added rake in the back holds you in a much better position, especially for longer journeys thumbsup

So the car:

Performance mods:

Stage 2.5 supercharger conversion (the .5 being the duel pass mod and large pro alloy pre rad with large header tank) the additional cooling gets a few more BHP :)
Triple pass race radiator - Lotus Racing
Cool running thermostat
Larini backbox
Larini de-cat pipe with magnaflow 100 cell high flow street racer cat welded in (just passed its 2nd MOT with no emmissions problems)
Uprated organic composite clutch
Lightened billet flywheel
Close ratio gearbox
Short shifter
Uprated polly engine mounts

Handling mods:

GAZ Gold Pro coil overs with 475 front and 550 rear springs
Lotus 340r geo setup
Yokohama AO48 LTS tyres
Mintex 1144 brake pads all round

Exterior mods:

De-badged rear (badges available to buyer)
De-badged front V, matt black
LY/VXR windscreen and matt black surround
Blended Customania louvres over front arches (the ARE functional too)
Turbo side air intakes (colour coded)
Turbo rear spoiler (colour coded)
Seat Leon Cupra front splitter
Satin black TD 1.2s (with custom black/yellow "VX220 SC" center caps) with Yokohama A048s (I also have a set of gloss black standard NA wheels with road tyres as well as a spare set of A048s which are part worn, all to go with the car price permitting)
Flush fitting valves - look cool and nothing for the scallies to steal! ;)
Black locking wheel bolts
RSG black annodised fuel filler cap and surround
Smoked indicators
Full front end HID conversion (6.5k including full beam, dipped and fogs)
White LED side lights to match HID conversion.
Ariel removed (still get signal even withough it - allowed me to drive under the barrier at work! :P )
Turbo front and rear lights (black internals)
Flat wiper blade with inbuilt washer jets (so you dont get wet when the roof is off!)
Elise/exige door mirrors (colour coded)
Colour coded hard top which I love the look of but prefer to be topless when the weather permits (to go with the car price permitting)

Interior mods:

Alacantara trimmed dash plates, center console, door cards and handle surrounds
MOMO gear knob
Shortened shifter
Full carpet set
Head unit replacement with hardwired iPod connection (SONY unit)
Additional 12v power supply in center console
Harness bar
OMP harnesses (road legal - 3" shoulder straps and 2" waist)
Custom composite seats in black - black leather pads with yellow piping)
Polished gearstick, window winders and handbrake lever
polished alloy indicator stalks
Fire extinguisher mounted under pax seat
Cup holder painted black
Headrest removal - so you can actually see things out of the back window!
Black aluminium tax disc holder

This is a SERIOUSLY quick car. When I went from NA to SC stage 2.5 the transformation was unbelievable, then I added the close ratio gearbox and it was something else! :D some people on this forum know me and my car very well and know how much time, money and effort has gone in to making this a fantastic drivers car as well as a comfortable commuter (70 mile round trip most days). I feel I have acheived a great balance.

The car has full service history (including cam chain replacement despite already having the new style chain and oil jet), has just ticked over to 34,000 miles which is pretty low for a 52 plate. Just passed MOT without any advisories. There are a few months tax left on the car.

I really don't want to see my pride and joy go but I will be looking to purchase a house or flat soon as well as going to work over in Germany so I will be needing something a bit bigger to take suitcases and tool boxes.

I think that is most things but I will add more if I think of anything

£14,000 ono

Give me a call on 07540758261 if you have any questions. I would say PM me but I have been really busy with work recently and not been getting chance to get on - that coupled with the lack of email notification of PMs might result in a delayed response.

Thanks for looking

I tried to edit my ad but it wouldn't let me

Wanted to say that the heater has been sealed and works well. The fan resistor pack has been removed and replaced with some heavy duty resistors that are actually up to the job so there are no fan speed issues with the heater fan.

There is a key operated ABS cut off switch located under the front bonnet Posted Image

I have a set of uprated hub carrier bolts waiting to fit

The duel fans for the main radiator and charge cooler radiator have the CS modified switch so the fans come on at 95C instead of 105C.

With my uprated cooling system my VX runs at about 84C with normal use and only seems to climb to 88C when sat in traffic. Nice and safe Posted Image

Edit to say:

Stupid of me to miss this out. The car is running at 260bhp, 225ftlbs. With the close ratio gearbox that makes it pretty chuffin quick!

Yes Fab, the forum owners don't let us post in the whole 'cars for sale' topic.

Movement by a mod would be appreciated! thumbsup

Do people think I would increase my potential market size by selling the TDs, hard top and composite seats separately and reducing the asking price for the rest of the car? I know I won't make any more money this way but if it results in a quicker sale that's good for me! I've got a new car which will be built by December and will be out of the country for at least a month and a half between now and then so the sooner I sell up the better really :( Also, bttt! ;) Edit to say: I really don't want to sell the parts/accessories separately as I genuinely think the car is near perfect just as it is- really wish I weren't selling up :(
