Because i'm a caring sort, I thought i'd share my findings. :gayfight:
Actual screenshots shown here! I'm so impressed with my phone, and all these are free!

I'd love to hear of any more!!

1) "Torque"
With a 25quid bluetooth obd reader from ebay, turn your android into a Scangauge

2) "Raceace"
Racing laptimer/datalogger. This uses googlemaps, and gives friction circle graph/ and the below plot. Also you can use it abroad without data...and it will take the data, then when you get home and turn data on the google satellite pic will come up below your speeds/Gs. As you can see you can even have some clue of racing line taken!

3)"aDyno"
Inputting lots of data about your car, and using the GPS and G sensors in your phone allows you to take pretty accuratish 1/4 mile times and power figures. Nice. Also works as a lap timer.

Some for the car that I have on my phone include SpeedView, a GPS based speedometer Drivesafe.ly, converts text messages into speech (useless in the VX where you can't hear anything anyway Carlocator, A gps positioning app which helps you find your car in the car park Car Mode, switchs your phone to Speaker mode when you receive a call Finally Google Maps Navigation is brilliant for a free phone based Satnav. I use it all the time. My only complaints would be that it doesn't show your speed on the screen and I'm not convinced by the accuracy of the ETA feature.

Very cool apps, especially for free. Android seems interesting, not sure what the phones are like compared to the usability/interface of the apple (but that is Completely off topic!).

I like the ODB reader thing, may just have to buy myself one of those. Out of interest, does it do anything else. Something with similar functionality of a scan gauge type thing would be brilliant, ie turning on the fan, error code reading etc.

Agreed re Google Maps Navigation, no need to ever own a SatNav. Been sent down a dead-end once, but otherwise it's outstanding (and free). I miss my last SatNav though; had Mr T's voice, "turn left, fool". Had to replace it in the end - it wouldn't navigate to the airport for some reason.. ;)

Good work John thumbsup Just playing with the aDyno now.... did you input the correct details in the car spec? Where the heck do you find the correct drag coefficient, drive train losses and rolling resistance etc?

You should be able to find cd, and frontal area maybe. Rolling resistance maybe not! Guess time! I've not tried yet, been playing with raceace mainly! Some interesting suggestions evileye.

For I-phone users try this one Renault Sport Monitor It's free, times your laps automatically by detecting when you cross the start line (gps), does your 0-100 time, and has a g force meter. it's the best I've found for free. Also mentioned on here before Lotus on Track app is a good one, and EVO have brought out a new app today. Free first issue. Enjoy.
