Damn good that Sam.
Some lighter alloys and you'd be away. What are they 18's? :D

Yep there atleast 5 years old now and not exactly optimal size and weight :P
I think there 18x8 rear with 225 tyres and 17x7 front with 205 tyres but they are lighter than the original N/A wheels with bridgestone tyres that i tryed picking up the other day.

Hello chinky chinky

Originaly we was going to take the ABS out but my aunt has decided she would rather keep it now so weve resoldered the wire back on today (that i broke  ) and we now have to also put an ABS light on the dash too for MOTs, oh well

Next step after that is to get the fuelling a bit closer before we take it to a rolling road.

I managed to get my uncle to go out for a drive today while a had the digi camera with me, its nothing special as its bearly done 100 miles yet and were still waiting on some new jets and needles to sort the fueling out as it running very rich across the whole rev range at the moment to the point of probley having some major bore wash.

Seeing as the next steps will probley take a long time i,ll leave you with a new video, enjoy chinky chinky

V8 VX220

Thats all for a few weeks chinky chinky

Congratulations on a great build! The V8 sounds fantastic B)

B,ah, silly damn laws, there must be a way round it. Maybe build it then get it registered in a neighboring country :P
Thanks, it sounds nice considering how little room there is for a decent exhaust :)

Its the big Sainsburys at Otford, I was on my way back from a drive and popped in to get some milk and a magazine. Saw another VX so thought I'd park next to it and it turned out to be your uncles one, small world :D

I spotted the indicator had fallen out but didn't mention it :P

Just incase its not using enough fuel I have these available for sale:

Ah yes otford!
Hmm those carbs are tempting but i think fuel injection will be the way to go tbh. How much better was your MX-5 on the EFI setup, mpg,bhp and torqe wise ? Also what size/spec Rover V8 have you got in it ?

Its a 4.6, I'm not sure what power is was making before as the carbs hadn't been properly set up for the engine when I got it, there wasn't even any airfilters or trumpets. I haven't had the fuel injection set up properly either yet as I have a cooling problem to solve first :( So to summarize no idea of power, torque or MPG for carbs or fuel injection

A 4.6 is a nice base to start from tho, we would of loved to use a 4.6 but it would mean running fuel injection and a cat. I was just looking at this westfield build LINK and he,s got some good figures with a 4.6 running stage 3 heads / piper 285 cam / high compression pistons and a cat exhaust.
Very tempting to go that route if we move over to the EFI setup with stand alone ECU, will have to see if our local range rover bloke has any 4.6s laying around for a long term build project.
We hav,nt had any cooling problems using a pro alloy large rad, electric water pump and a 82 degree thermostat, sits nicely at 85 degrees as long as you bleed the cooling system propley.
Maybe it has a leaking liner or something as thats quite common i hear

Sam.
