Great video. How did you fix the issue about the fuel filler surround ?

I've watched the clip about 4 times now still trying to see how thats done! unless the caps on some sort of spring tension and can be pushed back by the clam and then push itself forward again when the clams 'closed' ?

Thank you to techy for embedding the vid and for all the positive comments from all thumbsup

A little piccy update, first to show how we cheated with the fuel cap as its just inset by 5-10mm and on a bracket connected to the strut-bar engine thingy :P the angle of the clam going up is perfect to clear it.

I have no idea if the standard exhuast would clear the clam as weve changed the shape of it now, its abit flater/shorter with a lower tailpipe exit. Its close to the boot floor when it opens as it is so i guess the standard position would need a diffrent approach alltogether

Its sprouted a wing and some vents, the vents will have some honeycomb mesh from a 1930s riley radiator  in black and the tailpipe will be centre hole shaped, should have some piccys of that soon.

We had the inside of the clam painted mat black as it gives a nice finish to a rough surface and a few bits are done in red. Still undecided on the wheel colour but will probley be red or black.

More pics when the shot blaster gets round to finishing some bits.

I take it you have had to sacrifice the boot for either the engine or clam movement. As I wouldn't want anything in it, less it slides and punches a fresh hole through the clam.

Appears to still have the boot and engine lid / locking catch...

Nothing planned ;), just gotta finish off all the small/time consuming bits.

Still has the boot all as before, most of the back end/boot floor was repaired with aluminium but its pretty much the same shape :P .
The boot is allways filled up with heavy/pointy stuff so we put some 1" thick hard foam across the back. I carnt see my auntie using the flip much tbh, its more for us to get to the engine easyer, so hopefully it,ll be ok .
Were still unsure of how to hold the back up when its opened, basic cord of some kind like a lambo miura got by with or some sort of damped strut.
It certainly opens faster with a boot full of stuff  .

Amazing mod, congratulations! Would your uncle like you to give us a "how to"?

I,ll post more detailed pics soon as its all finished thumbsup .

Sam.
