Yes, it was a wrench to sell up but no regrets - just didn't use it. Enjoyed my 7 years of ownership though. Esp early years....!

I assume HMP is taking good care of him?
No not as exciting as that, I have been so busy at work I decided that all the spare time I have I was going to spend it with Lizy rather then pointlessly browsing spending money I think so far this month I have had 2 days out of the office
much loves everybody and I'll see you soon.

So the time has come where I find myself in this thread.
I've had the VX for a good few years now but the time has come to move on.....I hasten to add this a voluntary move not forced.
I currently have a 2002 diesel Fiesta as a daily and the VX for weekend fun (which has had very limited use since moving into a house 5 months ago that resembled a building site and the arrival of ChrisSC Jnr 3 weeks ago).
Instigated by a change in job role which now means a total daily commute of 30 miles rather than 140 miles I have made the decision to consolidate cars and get something stupidly uneconomical for daily duties. Queue some sort of fast Audi, BMW M car or whatever else outlandish tickles my fancy.
So the VX is on to pastures new and by all accounts is destined to end up being something rather special. It is sad to see it go, especially having done a trip around Europe in it, but I know it is the right decision.
For any of the newbies reading this I can say that over the approx 25k miles I've done in it it has never broken down on me and never failed an MOT. In fact it has been more reliable and cost less to run than the Fiesta which replaced it when I retired it to a weekend only car.
I will most likely stick around and be another one of those annoying member who don't actually own a VX and who knows...I might well end up back in one in the future.
Some photographic memories
Definitely no garage queen

More than 25k! (But not a lot) Actually today is putting the toys in the cupboard day before they get SORN'd, so I took the VX out last night & this morning, this year it's had a Fezzaus heater fitted, a new cambelt & finally in the last month or so, a set of Avons & some Nitrons & yet I've hardly used it. When it comes back out in the spring it'll be 9 years old with just under 36k on the clock. In my defence my 848 is just thirty miles short of 2k already, been out on that this aftieWhat's yours on Steve?

Sold mine last weekend, a very short stint but circumstances change and looking for something more child and buggy friendly so me and my 22 month old can go out for drives together. Probably going to go back to Nissan and get a Skyline to see what all this turbo malarkay is all about...
...anyway the car was Jon Tells red NA, had 52k on the clock when sold and it was immaculate. The guy that bought it brought along a friend who has owned four Elise variants over the last ten years and spent 2 hours looking it over to try and find something wrong with it. His conclusion was simply 'its in absolutely fantastic condition' - I have to admit some regret to selling as it is a stunning car, but I do value time with my little 'un as well and looking forwards to some hunting in the Nissan classifieds!
Cheers again turboluca, cliffie and others for the friendly advice and a certain you-know-who who took me for a go out in his stunning rabbiata red supercharged car which convinced me to buy one in the first place (which he subsequently wrote off, I was gutted!). Thanks guys.

Well holy crap, how did I end up in here....
Last Friday I hadn't even contemplated selling the VX and had already planned to spend yet more money on the car. Here we are on Tuesday afternoon and it's been driven away by its new owner.
All I can say is .Org is a wonderful place and I've made many good friends like most of you have. Our cars are special and I have no doubt I'll miss my blue lego but hey, times change and onto the next challenge.
Take care everyone.
