Waved goodbye to my VX yesterday, had her almost 7 years and covered a very fun 39k miles. Only failed to start once owing to flat battery, incredibly reliable. My daughter will be three next month and for the past 2 years the only enjoyment I've had in the VX has been doing the nursery run, so a more practical car was required :'(. She will be sorely missed. Hope I get to see the odd one about, will be sure to flash in envy on that occasion

That's got to be rare, an 07 plate VX? I've seen a couple of 56's but never an 07! What build number was it NickA?

Well it seems this is the place to for a last post about my VX
Bought in 2005 from a former member here and after 150k miles a numpty in a 4x4 caused it to be written off. It has gone to a new home though and looks like it'll be back on the road - wished I'd had the time and inclination to sort it but after so much hassle with the insurers I've lost the love.
It's by far the best car I've ever owned and for much of the last 10 years it was my daily drive (stage 4 and r888s), it survived a divorce, a new g/f and getting married again. Its a shame my 7 month old twin boys didn't get a ride though but who knows I may get another one day. Highlights were being encouraged by italian police on the autostrada outside milan to join and keep up with a ferrari convoy at max and driving the track at monaco just before a GP. Lows were the number of other drivers that seemed to completely miss the loud, little car in front of them.
The beast has been replaced by a new s5 cab - quick, safe and has isofix for my boys so if one waves at you it's probably me

Time to say goodbye to my VX. LY009 has has gone to a new home in Maidenhead. New keeper Paul isn't totally new, as he has been 50/50 driving it with me over 2 highland hoons and so driven over 1500 miles in it already
Replacement is a more sedate MX5, but was struggling with all the attention the VX was getting along with fragile bodywork...
