Hi, my turn. I met Mark (Zoobeef) this evening. He has taken custody of my VX. 3.5 years of seeing that shiny blue thing parked there, it will be odd to not see it. It has gone to a good home, it will be fighting fit in no time! It has been a blast, that change of direction is second to none. Many a drive I have walked away from it just absolutely buzzing. Alas, the time as come for a change. .org folklore has me touting the BMW E46 chassis as something special, who knows, I might find myself in an M3. All the best, Mark. Make it something special!
Sorry to see another Blue Biscuit and Carbon lover leave
Hopefully Zoobeef will keep the BBC theme going

Just go buy a proper red one, wtf do you want some heavy modern bland bore you to death depreciate like fcuk piece of expensive crap for Oh they are silent inside, comfy, ride the bumps without you knowing, full of electronic trickery, you turn the steering wheel and some guy at the design desk will let you know what happens to your wheels, fecking air con, oh and the absolute joy of holding a bloody button down to move a window. So easy to get in and out of and you see hundreds of them on your way to work so they must be good. You boring old fart. Amazon do a good line in pipe and slippers .I'll still be about, you won't get rid of me that easily I would certainly not rule out getting another one in a few years time.

Well, after owning an NA and a Turbo I've finally found time to think about getting out. I first open the door then I slide the seat back. Next I get my right leg up and over the sill. Half way there. With a little help from the screen surround I sort pull and push and lever myself up and out. It's getting harder even though I've been exiting my car since 2003. Must be old age. Usually I've left something behind and have to go clambering back in. Old age again. Well there you go. That's how I exit my VX. C.
I've seen you get out, I was scared...

Over 6 years never thinking I would sell the vx the day came today seeing it drive off with its new owner. Vx ownership will always have a place in my heart, along with many road trip's and fantastic track days/nationals. Amazing members make the vx the car it should be. I won't be going far as already ordered the replacement, I've gone to the dark side and getting a lotus exige v6. It's much like the vx yet 12 years newer and feels it. Won't be doing as many track days as planning to get back more in to road trips. After going more vx track focused it's something I've missed for a long while. Still booked for the 2016 national and hoon trip (can't miss those) Will see you at meets for catch ups Thanks Mark
Ahha, seen the light of paying around £500 a pop for track days!
Maybe you could try coming out on one of our Welsh dawn raids, amazing scenery, more rabits than cars on the road and wonderful twisty roads.
I also pop out to the Malborough hills sometimes, which is much closer for you.

Exactly the reason I sold my VX last year after near on 14 years. However, not the sort of road trips that Nev has in mind (I'd much rather track than risk thrashing around lanes and country roads not knowing what's around the next bend) but longer trips, especially in Europe, hence why I've registered for the Austrian Tirol meet this yearWon't be doing as many track days as planning to get back more in to road trips. After going more vx track focused it's something I've missed for a long while. Mark

Don't quite understand this polarised viewpoints of track vs road, or those that seem to have to justify their jump from one camp to the other.
Just do both, when you feel like it and when it suits you.
I enjoyed a blast around the peaks the other week with other VX's but it can't scratch the itch of pushing the car to the limits on a track. Go to a track in Europe and you can do both the long road trip and the track.
You can have your cake and eat it guys

I think that is what the exige V6 is most capable of. With the Vx you need relatively stiff suspenders to exploit it on track. What I have read of the V6 is that had the usually great Lotus road manners, but is setup in a way that is thoroughly enjoyable on track. Plus that V6 lump sounds far better than a Pauxhall 4potDon't quite understand this polarised viewpoints of track vs road, or those that seem to have to justify their jump from one camp to the other.
