The price was an amount we were both happy with ;) The VX had done just over 100k when I bought it. I've put around 700 miles on it including 150 miles at Cadwell which it did faultlessly, no oil or water used and the luna rebuilt engine never missed a beat B)

Sold mine yesterday :( Only reason for sale was change of circumstances, needed a more every day car and I could rapidly see myself falling out of  with the VX if I had to use it everyday. What now, I don't know :( Have spent all day on the web and visiting the local dealers, nothing is a patch on the VX unfortunately. You can't have it all  Think I will go the cheap route, keep some money aside, and will therefore pick myself up a Clio 182 Cup. Will I be back, if my life goes the way I hope it does then I think I will. I enjoyed my vx experience, enjoyed the ups and the downs (I have a good sense of humour thankfully), and I am now appreciating even more what a truly capable car it is. This site and its members have been great and only made the experience better, I would never hesitate to suggest a VX to someone. I'll leave you with my final experience of my VX. I had to telephone my insurer to inform them that I had sold the car, dialed the first number I found in my paper work, turned out to be the renewals department. I gave the guy on the phone my basic details, told him what I was calling about and he said this was the wrong department and he would put me through to the Customer Service department, then he said "Due to data protection I can't actually say [very basic conversation to this point, no proof of ID etc.] but, that's a cracking car, I bet you're gutted" and before I could respond he had put me through to customer service. Least my last memory won't be of it driving up the road  Snow chinky chinky

Thought this would be the best place to let you all know I'm back..!!! Those of you from years ago (!) may remember my moonland VXT, which I sold in 2007. Now gone and bought a gorgeous black turbo as I found I couldn't live without one.... chinky chinky

Well 15 months of ownership are now over, the VX was a good car, never went wrong, enjoyed it, although even at stage 2.5 the NA was just under powered. Never had to deal with the dealers. Was planning on swopping this year to an Exige but the VX decided to kill itself (and nearly me) and now a little unsure as to what the future toy will be! Will I be back in a VX220? Simply no, it was an experience but its time to move on, 8 years in a Westfield prior to the VX taught me that not much really compares for the sheer rawness of the 7-esque car and I think its time to move over to a different side of performance driving. I hope you all have fun in your VX's, just watch the back ends when its wet. Cheers Kevin

After 4 years of Speedster ownership, today we saw #1749 being driven away by the new owner. Got an offer I couldn't resist, so decided to sell. These have mostly been four years of joy, amazing cars these Opel/Lotus bastards rallly

We've covered track days, daily driving, holidays and upgrades. This forum has been very useful, and without it ownership would have been a lot more difficult. Now moving on to something else, still lightweight and coming from Heathel.

Well ladies and gents today was the day,

Just watched Nick drive off in my his VX220 Turbo. There is a pluck at the heart string, but i know i have made the right decision to sell it.

Why sell it? I was no longer getting the level of fun out of the VX i used to, and so i knew it was time to move on. I think the immediate future holds a motorbike and a Boxster S for commuting, but we shall wait and see what i can get away with. Whatever i get, none will be a able to replicate the VX but they will be different in their own way, and different is what i want right now.

I have not been an overly active member of the forum for the 6 years i have been on, but i have benefitted hugely from the wealth of experience and advice given by all on here, so thanks for that.

Will i ever get another one? Well, I have now signed up to the Porsche forum, and as a result now think that Vauxhalls are no longer good enough for me :borg: , only kidding! Never say never, but (unlike Women) i wont get in trouble with my main transport, or catch anything dibilitating, from sampling the whole range of what life has to offer, so i think it is very unlikely.

chinky chinky

why does this thread make me think of that song "seasons in the sun" ? We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun. But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time

Well time has come Almost 5 years, two sets of engine mounts countless tyres and more £ in fuel than I ever care to remember! The VX has gone, I have sold to a trader in Cardiff for a fee we were both happy with! I'm guessing he has someone interested as he was keen to buy it and for me to take it there this saturday! Deal done and I'm out So what's next? Well being sensible basicaly! I'm saving for a house and the VX is along way towards that! I will stay around, have a few things to sell still and will say hi from time to time but it's shed time for a while and you never know in a few years I might be back! Signing off Alistair
