Well after 6 years 6 months and 12 days I have got rid of my beloved VX. Like all relationships it had it's good times and it's bad. My overwhelming thought about my car was how many experiences I had had, people I have met and places I have gone as a direct result of having the car. I will always remember the sense of occasion I felt everytime I got in it and the novelty of kids with open mouths pointing at the car as I drove past will stay with me for a long time it was always at the back of my mind that I would have done exactly the same when I was a kid! As with everything there were difficult times too but even now as I write this they were so insignificant in comparison to the good times that I'm not going to write anything else! I now have a Z4 coupe Si Sport which I think is ok so far, it was certainly a bit warmer over the last couple of months. I'd be extremely surprised if I don't come back to VX ownership within the next couple of years. Maybe sooner, who knows? This forum has been a great source of information and by far the best community forum I have ever had the pleasure of being involved with. Really looking forward to meeting up with a few guys for the Highland Hoon in August.

Well after 5 years I am off. Keeping the VX of course just leaving .org and its inept admin/moderating team who are incapable of running even a half decent forum. I've met some good people on here, and will keep in touch with them of course just not via the forum. It's disappointing that after so long, a relatively short period of 6 months have been so bad and getting progressively worse so I'll be leaving with a bitter taste in my mouth. It would appear (some have posted their grievances others have just kept quiet) that other members think/have thought the same and have already stopped posting. I can't see there being any improvement as the board has suffered from poor admin/moderators from the outset, which has only got worse over time. Au revoir.

I've only just seen this. :o

I can't believe people are leaving the forum due to things like this.

We, including you, are all here because of our VX's, that is the main priority.

Sorry to see you are leaving.

Seriously p4cks, WTF?

The forums aren't that bad! TBH I love your comments and sense of humor on the boards. I think the fact that you get worked up when other people quote pics in replies is funny (altho I will agree with you, it's pointless to quote a pic time and time again)

The boards are here for sharing of knowledge, and for the occasional :gayfight:

Good luck p4cks, I'll miss you. (hopefully see you over at www.vx220.org)

Hmmm... Posting here to P4cks surely is a novel idea eh! Been a while coming had this, and is a great pity.

If you do read this P4cks, if you still have my number, drop me a text anytime and if I finally managed to get a NE meet/event sorted I'll let you know what the craic is! thumbsup

Good Luck Fella - always enjoyed your posts (still laugh at that PH one!)

TBH I think I'll join you!. Sold my NA a good while ago but still hung round as it was such a good forum, sadly many of those who made dot Org what it was have also moved on to be replaced by newbies who I clearly have fook all in common with given I can't read text speak and I have no interest whatsoever in dump valves, neons or putting sticky-back-plastic over my headlights

Well this is it.....final week of ownership :( After nearly 8 years i'm parting with my one most prized possesion in the world, but as circumstances have changed....like meeting a fellow VX owner, falling in love, getting married and the posibility of kids on the way i decided that owning 1 vx in the household was enough. So i bid you fairwell from the ownership point of view, but i'll still be around due to us still having a vx :)

You're married so technically you own half of the remaining VX ;)

Nearly 8 years :o , your car with it's previous owner at the wheel was my first spotted (when I was an LY driver). Time flies, but as jules has already posted, technically you are still a VX owner.

Cars up for sale here :

http://www.pistonhea...les/3145223.htm

never felt this way selling a car before but after 1 year of ownership I have come to realise that I need something different for the following reasons.

1) I spend too much time cleaning/polishing it. Its condition is too good and, yes (I have OCD when it comes to cars!) I cant put it back in the garage if its not spotless!

2) I worry about picking up stone chips on a motorway run

3) I wont take it on a track day for the above reasons

4) Want something less practical now as the Mrs has just bought a Mini Cooper s Convertible and I already have a diesel Passat Estate. also something that I rag around country lane without worrying about getting it a bit dirty!

Here's what im currently looking at:

Posted Image

I've had a Westy in the past but this one ticks all the boxes I now require. Only slight problem is that is has a straight cut box which may be a bit of a pain. How loud are they?

Anyway, whatever happens and whatever I get next I'll let you all know. This site/club is without doubt the best owners club sites I have ever used. Thanks to you all

Well I had forgotten to add myself to the list here... So to confirm my baby has moved on to pastures new - with no real car to replace it. The MG is also going, with an older, higher mileage Passat TDi to replace it. I will be back.... I hope.
