Good work jimmy. Enjoying working on the car again or does it feel like a chore?

Have you decided whether you are going to make it road legal again?


Certainly not a chore but today was a tough day! It was so cold out in the council garage I struggled and the guy who was meant to help me get the clam off didn't show so I had to do it alone which was rough!

Might make it road legal for the summer next year, but no immediate plans....

do you get any side flex with the wing being high on two thin suports?


There is a fair amounr of lateral movement but when the clam is on it actually prevents it so all gravy!

usual stage 3 SC spec, eagle rods, wiseco 8.9:1 pistons, balancer delete (not used due to electric water pump), lightened flywheel

So Joe took me in for the weekend and we decided to change my engine over (again) :lol: I'm not sure there has been a VX that has had so many engines (this is engine number 3). Ali will be happy though that engine #2 is out of my car as it will soon be powering Brum :)

Joe perched in his usual position. As you can see in the background there was another project going on during the engine swap

So got to work @ 7:20am on a cold and wet morning. thank god someone had built a car port over the car the day before :lol: the nails I fired into the structure are the most structurally important!

So after a backbreaking weekend I just wanted to sayy a massive thanks (again) to Joe for replacing my engine (again) and putting me up for a few days (again). I've got a stage III lump in there now so I'm hoping for somewhere around the magic 300bhp mark. We shall see!

Shame it's not going to be out there for Time Attack this season but next year......

I want another one of these in 2013 :D
