Not sure Ray, I bought it off Joe thumbsup

So got 5 mins today, fired up the car and started working on all the water leaks

Unfortunately rather than a leak I got no circulation from my electric water pump at all. Power was on unit and unit was defo spinning. Luckily the Davies Craig website is pretty good so my iphone got me a pdf with the key to the issue. The pumps do not 'self prime' so need to be mounted in the following way

Posted Image

Once I got the water pumping I plugged all the leaks and let her run for a while.

Once I was sure the clam was staying on I went about permanantly mounting the lower brackets (below clam to subframe) then couldn't resisting mounting the entire carbon wing :)

The brackets back from the engineering shop are unpainted but look great!!!!! Cliffie and Joe - yours are done too and are even better!

I love this wing though!!!

So had five mins spare today between burping babies and making bottles up......

So I tidied all the rear end up a bit. Routed the rear end cables, mounted the rear lights, fitted nice countersunk bolts to the spoiler and all the 'spare' holes in the clam (the ghosts of spoilers past) . Car's finally starting to look like a car again (from the rear anyway).

Will be moving house over the next couple of months (just to give myself more to do ) and I'm hoping to get a gaff with a decent garage as I'm sick of renting this shity council garage from hell!! No power, no lights, neighbours that want to kill me and no tools either (other than what I've remembered to bring).

I can but wish eh...?

It's far from subtle but the camera angle makes it look bigger than it is in the flesh but I absolutely love it!!!!!!

Anyone who wants a big race wing buy the EliseParts one and speak to Joe and me about brackets.

Joe, Cliffie and myself all on these brackets now, they're solid as a rock!

Wing supports (again )

So the way I've mounted it is damn strong but you can inflict movement in the assembly when you really hang off it. Not a real issue but I'm a bit funny with stuff like and want it super strong! Helps to move the car around in the paddock!

The assembly is held together with M6 nuts and bolts with penny washers either side as shown in the pic below

Posted Image

Problem is the holes in the brackets which you pass the bolts through are clearance holes for an M6 thread (so are more like 7mm drilled holes) so unless you tighten the bolts uber uber tight then you can introduce movement as you've only got an inteferance fit from the faces of the brackets.....

Instead I decided to use some M6 bolts with 8mm shoulders.

Posted Image

These allowed me to carefully drill an 8mm hole through the brackets and force the bolt through so it essentially pins the brackets together preventing any kind of movement in the bracket.

Bolt shown inserted

Posted Image

Now the top brackets are off with the powder coaters at the moment but the lower brackets have now been fully secured to the subframe and are not going ANYWHERE!!!!
