Problem is the holes in the brackets which you pass the bolts through are clearance holes for an M6 thread (so are more like 7mm drilled holes) so unless you tighten the bolts uber uber tight then you can introduce movement as you've only got an inteferance fit from the faces of the brackets.....
That's not right.. M6 bolts are 6mm including the tread. No need for a 7mm hole.
An M6 threaded hole is actually a little smaller than 6mm.. More like 5.8mm..
Instead I decided to use some M6 bolts with 8mm shoulders.
As you have now operned up the holes to 8mm, just for a laugh stick some M8 bolts through there.. Should fit just fine.
Should allow you to tighten them to about 25NM compared to 12NM for the weedy M6 bolts. (or more if you go to grade 12.9 nuts and bolts)
Gets you both the physical location as well as the additional clamping force...
Bye, Arno.

Clearance drill size for a loose fit M6 hole IS 7mm.

The point of the shouldered bolts though is that clamping force is then irrelevant as the load is taken 100% by the precise fit of the shoulders

Yup, they look lovely Jimmy, what were you charged?
It was quite pricey tbh, £30 for what's in the pic. Not the best but there was only the one place I could get to do it and they were in Caerphilly (home of Tommy Cooper ).

Had a few days to myself to work on the car and have got loads done!!!! I'm buggering back off to Belgium Monday and I get back just before the National so have had to pull my finger out and make some progress.
I was keeping it under wraps for now but I was 'outed' on facebook so anyone who's seen it stay hush
Here's a sneak peak until I can get all my pics uploaded.
Got the front clam resprayed. Bugger's painted the grille too which was frustrating but I soon got it back to black
Spot the splitter
Back to black, but what else is lurking...?

Ended up buying the Forge kit off a Toyota engined Exige. The nipple on this one is in a far more sensible place and set in the hose much better.
Also refitted my Steinmetz which I stripped and re-glued and fitted some arch extenders into the sills.
Anyway, back to the clam ; I've not fixed it yet but have got a nice extender for the Robin splitter. Really finishes is off in my opinion.
Called a mate at South Wales Car care to pop by and help me get the car clean as it was filthy from all the 'dremmel' work the car's had. Here's a shot from the rear with the new carbon fibre spoiler which has been cleaned for the first time
Here's another pic showing my latest addition
