I cant see any reason why not i took my belts out as i had harnesses fitted.
Can they be used with the standard seat belt or do they have to be used with a harness? It looks to me like the lap part of a standard belt might sit too high given that it has to clear the high sides of the seats. I've seen a few VXs with these seats but they've all had harnesses.
Anybody know?
Given the silence, either none of you know or I'm not a member of the 'clique' and therefore not entitled to know.![]()
Seriously, can these be used (safely) with a standard seat belt?
But just had a look and all seems good to fit with standered belts

so does this mean you are in the clique

hi guys, spoke to keith at jk composites just now and he said that there not really in the position to do a group buy at the moment, which is a bit of a shame.
he can put the saloon gt harnes holes in there if you want.
he said he will send me pics to show the differences between the high and low sided versions tho.
Shame about the group buy seems like we have quite a few people interested, still I reckon they're good value.
I'm only going to get the one for the drivers side, missus has enough trouble getting in with the standard seats let alone something with higher sides

High Sided

Low Sided

Look in relation to the sill at the side to get the idea

IS the one with the high sides Rich Vaughans old car?
If so it is mine now (hurrah) and answers the question as to whether I have the high or low sided seat.
I find that the seat I have pushes my knees together and my long legs sometimes get in the way of the steering wheel. DO you find that the low sided ones allow you to spread your legs (!) a bit more. This would give me that extra bit of space I need.
Thanks

i just had an email back from JK sayign they now have a mount that sits an inch lower and that they have had a customer at 6 foot 4 been really happy with these mounts. so looks like this is the plan then
does anyone know which harness bar sits the furthest back to allow the seat to be taken back the most amount of notches?
If this is the bracket they made for me, then I am not happy with it. it doesn't fit! I got it a couple of weeks ago and Plans tried to fit it when they had the car. I must call JK.

I sat in Lee's with the high sides for a quick check.
I defiantly got the pushing of the legs together, I think it'd be more than fine but you defiantly won't be resting your leg/knee on the sills any more.
I'm rather, ahem, "stocky" around the lower region think over time would find the higher sides pushing into my sides uncomfortable. (go the lower sides)
The higher sides and fat arse also made it a PITA to get into with the stock steering wheel... lower sides FTW

..and looks the dogs!
