I had to convert half the pressure side of my original fuel system to a JIC-6 hose after the OE pressure one blew up The fitting on the fuel rail could be coverted with a M14x1.25 to JIC adapter The return side is somewhat special I think, but both could be found here : http://cgi.ebay.com/...s#ht_1826wt_939 Maybe the return side could be found elsewhere too, just need to find out what size it is exactly. Next, the fuel filter has some weird concave fittings, but JIC fuel filters are easy to find everywhere and are cheap, so not an issue. Next fittings to the OE fuel pump, push-on spring loaded fittings. I wonder if these could work : http://www.summitrac...rts/RUS-640850/ http://www.summitrac...rts/RUS-640860/ Has anyone tried these before or got any idea if these are the good ones ?

Is it worth using braided hose and AN fittings if the connection at the fuel pump end is still a push on fit? When I did this on my Spazda I had some fittings brazed on the fuel tank outlet as it is steel, but the plastic VX ones obviously won't allow this.

alanoo, if you replace the metal pipes right up to the rail, what do you do with the pressure valve? Broadly speaking, what is the safer option, using the aluminium fittings on the end of the fuel hose or sliding the hose over a section of plastic or aluminium pipe and clamping it?

pressure valve is the pressure regulator you mean ? It is not affected by this, at least on the Z22SE as it is integrated it the fuel rail (don't remember how it is on the z20let) A clamped fuel hose is never a good solution, it was something that was done at carbs times, when the pressures were lower, not safe enough for my standards

I mean the little black pressure relief valve to depressurise the fuel system. How would you connect the fuel return to the pump which is a push fit connector?

With the special connectors in the first post, does the job for both the pressure and return fittings of the OE pump

Can that little black valve be left out then? i.e. could you run hose directly to the rail from the pump and filter?

Ah this Schrader valve on the pressure side... I didn't remembered that one. I think it is only used for pressure diag/testing purposes...

That's what I thought, would be good if someone could confirm. There is a place local to me that could make up some hoses, I might take a spare rail over there and see what they can do.

Should work I have not tested my Russell fitting yet; they definitely look like they should work, but I wondered if there will be not clearance issue with the pump body I guess I could test it this week on number 2 and confirm

Ah right, I just picked that one as a quick example of sizing, I would buy that locally anyway.

Alan,
Do you mean that there is a potential issue with the OEM fuel pressure lines ?
Thank you

I blown one with a too agressive rev limiter; I'm sure they will be fine with the OE ECU

When I get home Nick I'll send you my basket at Summit Racing which is where I'm ordering almost all of the fixings from and you can work out what you need extra as you might need a couple more due to your swirl pot.
