Yep but I'm kind of limited by the characteristics of the OE front steering arms at the moment

Joe, well when you add up the 2 pairs of ramps (steel + wood), yep a bit longer :P

surely you define the ride height, then design the position of the steering geo to suit, either through rack height and/or steering arm re-design

Yes; In an ideal world when you are fabricating from a clean sheet as you are but when you are using an existing car then compromises have to be made but we are not doing that so we make do with 90/100 ride heights and make the car handle as best we can.

Seems to work OK as we have plenty of well handling VX220s out there on road and track.

Not taking away from anything you have done but A. We do not all have the facility to build a three year project and B. We need our cars to work sort of now-ish.

can you mount the trackrod balljoint upside down, so the linkage remains at a better angle , or you go with a custom arm and rose joint

90mm ride height is too low. The front is fairly easy to get working at low ride heights, its the rear that kills you. As soon as you drop the roll centres below the ground these little cars get quite unstable. There is no point in going from say, 100mm to 90mm as you still won't be in the window for aero to start performing well. To get to these ride heights you really want uprights with different bearing centres.

They will do the job although the bearings are still not great.

Did you do any testing with the new pump or it must be good now with the 044... (ps, you still need to dremel the clam a bit rounder above the exhaust. )
