I take it you aren't selling up then Matt?!

Doing this transplant may be the only thing that prevents me. Like JG keeps saying, it's more fun having the thing in bits than it is driving it, most of the time.

Looks like I will have to replace that external trigger wheel I removed, it should do nicely for this setup, better get working on that saab head also

that 118 BTDC is the same as the z20let

We talked about this some ages ago:
http://www.vx220.org...60#entry1194694

Z20LET crank trigger is found to be 114* BTDC for the 1st-tooth-after-the-gap. Not so much different from the 118 degrees we measured, but the deviation here seems a bit more than a possible deviation for the trigger egde. (1 full tooth difference = 6 degrees rotation)

Had a pretty cool setup yesterday evening, thanks to smiley for recommending it we used a programme called teamviewer which is a free service for personal use Exmantaa was able to control my laptop screen while using hptuners! We where also able to still use msn messenger (teamviewer do have a chat system but we where already on msn so made sense!)

Joe is a bit busy i think... On the engine we did some preliminary logging with the LSJ ecu and ran into some strange fuelling issue. It starts and runs fine from cold in closed loop 14.7AFR, but once warm the ecu starts repeatedly commanding a 10.10AFR in open loop at idle. All points now to some GM sanity test of the rear O2 sensor (Joe's VX is catless and has no rear O2 sensor), so he needs to fit the rear sensor back in the exhaust to see if a correct O2 signal makes the ecu happy again. (Only strange that my LSJ ecu does not show this behaviour without a rear O2, but this behaviour seems to differ between ecu years/OS versions. And if the sensor has no effect we will swap out the ecu...) But he needs to get the car on the road first to do some serious logging and mapping.

(And maybe to fire Joe up a bit; I received my ZZP st2 cams yesterday, so nothing holding me back anymore to fit these in my spare ported head and try how far my Harrop will go on the 2.0LSJ... )

I used the cheap $200 +1mm valves, then spent another £1500 repairing the engine after one just snapped :glare:

At stage 4 SC you must use good quality parts, only GM Racing + 0.5mm valves are worth considering

edit: $395 for the GM valves

Good point or should I say could be a "cheap £££" point in the end I have spent too much on this engine

I'm still on original Saab/LSJ valves.
I compared the ZZP stage 2 cams (made by Comp) to your Comp SC cams, but a bit hard to compare numbers as the durations are specced at different lift heights. But I think your's are maybe a tad more aggressive...
