When you say "custom rear diffusers to aid aerodynamics" are you going to modify the TAT or replacing?? You can probably guess why I am asking and yes I am a vulture :P I always seem to miss out on the second hand ones and would  one, please don't :9mm: me

with the harrop tvs do you run a bypass valve to allow the ecu to shutdown things, how do you control knock detection?

time scale is to have it all done by february :) which i think is fairly doable thumbsup

it's only a couple of weeks of work to sort the engine and sc conversion

but spread over the weekends it will take several months

all the parts have been ordered and i will be hopefully dropping you off 1.5 engines next weekend then the following weekend drop you off all my engine parts :) thats gives you 4 months to build it and fit it :P

There is a vent/bypass valve and as to knock I would assume it's still controlled by the ecu as normal

Technically this is just impossible,
It is impossible the stock z20LET knock noise filtering settings would work on a completely different engine.

Let's just hope the stock settings would not retard timing with detecting fake knock as the z22SE (with its chain and its thin liner supports) is a very noisy engine.

Something I did not think of for the Z20LET conversion...
So this implies to me that the knock detection of an LSJ or Saab 207 OEM ecu should be much better suited to 2,2, as it basically is the same alu Ecotec block.
Now where are my LSJ ecu's...

Would it help to list the differences between the two? Does the z22 use Saab style ion charge current across the spark to detect preignition? Are both a Bosch piezo sensor? Location in block? Can we obtain the engne noise profile vs rpm table? Is the processing done by ecu or an extra passive filter component?
