it was the rear brake setup that was twisting under load iirc

i see. strange that the rears could be twisting when only 40% or so is sent that way, you would of thought the fronts would go first.

Yep, that's why Elise Parts withdrew their rear caliper (which was a rebadged HiSpec). When I spoke to HiSpec at the Autosport show 18 months ago, they reckoned they had a new version in the works. But in usual HiSpec stylee, it appears it's yet to materialise.

Still, they can't go wrong with a bell, can they........?

Just need to make sure it's got a recognised bolt pattern compatible with other rotor suppliers.

I thought the one that Geary had on thier site was the replacement HiSpec rear caliper. I am 99% sure that he had said it was, and came about after some issues they had worked through. However it wasn't suitable for the standard upright and would require either the GT hubs or a custom mounting bracket.

not really sure what to do then? AP rotor and bells have been proven and i wouldnt want to use a make that has been withdrawn .... i have brand new 308mm drilled and grooved front with 295 drilled and grooved rears so i hopefully wont need to change for a good few months! what is the wear rate on the rotors?

Been 3 years on my AP 295's. Still not past minimum thickness (circa 15k miles and maybe 20 trackdays) but I've just changed them along with some new pads in the vain hope I can cure that nasty knocking I get on track when the brakes get hot.

I have a 2Bular which Jim stuffed with the new wadding stuff and whilst it is noisy (98dB) it hasn't got any noisier in the 20k I have done since fitting it. Did Brands at the weekend and passed noise test there OK and din't trip off the drive by either. Just want a decat silencer now. Jim... Jim... are you there Jim...

just what AP spec the calipers to run  i imagine you would have to space the calipers out and they deem this as dangerous...
