now having the wideband lambda sensor fitted i can see that the car when revving on vxr and let injectors that it runs very lean and very rich in certain areas of the rev range up to about 3k havent gon higher than this.
After speaking to Jon at courtenays we both agreed that le mans is out the question as the mapping just isnt going to be ready and if it will be then i will then have to take it home run it in and then drive to get the final map which just isnt logistically possibly within the limited time frame to le mans. after dropping out the national due to tthe car not being ready it left me with no room for error which was alot to ask for a ecu that has never been put on a z22 before.
So we agreed that the best thing to do is wait until nicks car is ready and running perfect on the ecu to then put that map on my ecu and run it in and then go for the final remap which is the safest option we can both think off, this engine owes me alot of money and to be honest i cant afford for it to break!
so to be continued another day/month...
Don't blame you Joe, I am hoping Jon should be getting somewhere with mine this week, think I better dig my wideband out of the box, anyone got a gauge.. have you put it in the post cat hole?
Looks like I mis Lm also.

(i dont advise techie to fit one as he has enough guages to worry him to death )
No interest in AFR's. It's either okay or it's not and either way, it's out of my control and down to the ECU to manage. I know it runs slightly on the rich side of stoich (on full or partial throttle) and that's as much as I need to know.
Plus, AFR (aka Chav) gauges are always really tacky looking and only belong in quadruple gauge pods down the A pillars of some turbo'd ricer, or another.
Oil pressure and temp gauges will be no more after this weekend as well, now I have total faith in 10w50 or 10w60 oil not vanishing before my very eyes and not being able to get the oil over 110°, no matter how I drive it. That and the fact the audible warning on them does my fecking head in when the engine isn't running but the ignition is on (stupid fcuking cars for not having a live position 1 on the ignition switch). Better chase up the bungs for the sensors, now you've reminded me.

Good news Matt Gone the same route now, Le Mans will be the first test.
(apologies for the mild hijack Joe)

I really shouldn't temp fate like that but it just seems to use negligible oil now. Maybe 200ml over two trackdays on the 10w50 and less than that on two trackdays on 10w60. Wish I'd done it two years ago and not carried on with ultra thin stuff. It doesn't stop the dipstick paranoia though.......Good news Matt Gone the same route now, Le Mans will be the first test.
