Would it help to list the differences between the two?

Does the z22 use Saab style ion charge current across the spark to detect preignition?

Are both a Bosch piezo sensor?
Location in block?
Can we obtain the engne noise profile vs rpm table?
Is the processing done by ecu or an extra passive filter component?

Nop the z22 ion sensing is only a very basic stuff used to detect the engine phase.

I wonder if the z20ne*/b207* uses ion sensing for knock detection. they definitely use a real ion sensing complicated module and compatible coils and a "Trionic" ECU but for a strange reason they still have a knock sensor as far as I know...

bit of an update, i just managed to strip the B207 now so have all of the engines i need as i also have the z22yh aswell still waiting on parts from america though :(

i have now ordered my porsche throttle body which is 68mm so that this will run with the z20 ecu

i have recieved all my parts from courtenay sport, many thanks Jon. Here is a picture of the modified charge cooler radiators that we fit to all our conversions:

Posted Image

as you can see the fans and mounting bracket have been reversed so that we can run the CC pipes down the passenger side to reduce length of pipes and water (weight ;) )

I have also recieved my new 6 speed driveshafts and gearbox mount, many thanks Matt

Posted Image

still waiting for my radiator to turn up, i went for an eliseshop tripple pass radiator in the end... about 11% improvement over standard radiator at 10m/s no loss at any speed and 6% improvement at 10m/s compared with 42mm alli radiator you will see improvement at above 22mph but below 4m/s you will see a loss over a 42mm alli radiator

That's good it's meant to be rectangle ;) I measured it up against the other radiators I have and it's all correct must be the camera angle on IP4 It's the eliseshop one 2.25 x stiffer one :)

Are you sure you wanna fit that alloy crank pulley to your SC engine?? The opinions differ about this.. (ask Alanoo's opinion on this subject....) And what did they port on the SC? (Not much to improve there and I sure hope they did not widen the silencer holes.)

It's a alli pulley with steel collar so hopefully I won't have the issues that people have had with the full ali Pullies. If it does then the company I dealt with will fully refund me :) I will upload pictures of the porting tomorrow it's only at the tb side, it has been enlarged quite s bit

I prefer to keep my stock harmonic balancer on the crack, or fit an uprate one designed for the job (ATI GM ecotec damper) Did your Saab engine not had a 6 rib crank pulley/balancer?

Yup it did I just got a good deal on the Pullies so worth a punt :) if it all goes tits up I will fit a standard pulley :) I imagine it will be safer if I get it balanced with the crank which isn't a big deal

LSJ alternators are a bit different, as their power supply is regulated by the ECU... Ow, and they normally turn the other way.
