Yup got his map so I believe the afr should be spot on as out engines aren't really that different and I doubt I will have alot more! Also speaking to exmantaa and he thinks that at nicks hp we are practically maxing out the VXR injectors

Yeah, that's based on some injector flow measurements MarkV did recently:
Grey Z20LET: 365cc/min @ 3.8Bar
GM LSJ: 406cc/min @ 3.8Bar
Blue VXR injectors: 442cc/min @ 3.8Bar

The VXR's seem to flow far less then the 470cc@3bar you see them everywhere specced and think they will be really stretched with 378 SC-BHP's. (so 400+ on the pistons)

I read that in your topic and was probably needed to get them fuelling enough, but 4.5bar will only make them ~476cc/min according to Markv's measurements... There are "calculators" that estimate possible horsepower from a certain injector fuel flow and 476cc is not making for a safe 380Hp... But I'm no mapping expert and hope something is simply fishy with the calcs or those flow measurements and you make a safe 380+ without 100% dutycycle.

How do they change this? With the ecu? Also nick you know I'm only playing! chinky chinky Also as I have piston oil jets I don't need to run as much fuel as nick does as I don't need to cool the pistons down with over fueling

No, base fuel pressure is changed with the rail regulator. (probably simply squish it in...) The ecu does not know how much fuel pressure you run or the injected amount. You simply have to tell him how much. (Normally the injector constant in gram/s, mostly in a table depending on manifold pressure if your run a static fuel system.)

That is the normal method yeah, but done with a manometer bolted to the rail. (borrow from a friendly garage?) Ask courtenay, as the correct base fuel pressure is pretty important for you mapping, especially when you enter open loop mode!!!!

Are you still on the wine or is that a special one?? LSJ's normally run a (fixed) pressure of 58psi with a dead-end fuel rail. So no regulator on it, let alone one that give you a corntrolled 67psi...

Pfft don't think so! Just I have been given wrong information! Do a search on the cobalt site and you can see that someone has told me lies!! :angry2: I will see if I can get hold of a fuel pressure tester and get a hammer and a socket out!
