Well I got bumped up into the next class and I only had a 4 point cage. The thing is, if the tyre situation remains the same as reported, club will be on the same as last year and club pro on road legal track tyres. Therefore the chances of you getting within 5% of the class above is unlikely.

Still though, in theory you will beat everyone fairly easily. I only found out the other day that in 2010 when I won, my car was only running 320bhp ish, not the 380 ish that I thought it was. The Supras I beat were 950bhp and 800 bhp. This year I will hopefully be running 380bhp and my car isn't that light anymore, so I'd expect you to be lapping roughly the same as me, give or take...........

i only have the standard rollover bar fitted to the car as standard.

in theory  thats putting the pressure on  be good to see yours out there, is yours a rotrexed type r engine? whats that like for inlet air temps?

chinky chinky

No, my type r engine uses a Jackson Racing charger (Eaton) It's got a chargecooler core sandwiched in between the charger and inlet manifold, which cools the air intake and the charger body itself, so is fine for intake temps.

nice, thats hopefully how the new one will work :) i am waiting for a spare intake manifold to come from the states, we use laminover cores that are fine for 250-300 but as far as im aware me and nick are the only ones in the uk that run an intake air temp sensor as standard they are before the charger. i am hoping pro alloy can make a new design :) time will tell! eatons are good chargers we use the eaton m62 but i have gone for the aussi harrop :) new thermostat fitted (tried before at the parts place  ) new belt not fitted as the one i got requires the charger to come off fit belt then bolt down and there is no chance in hell i am taking that silly sized harrop off  so will get a slightly larger belt tomorrow

What size do you have now? 6PK????
And can you not simply remove the Harrop pully and slide the new belt on together with the pulley?

@Jamie; saw your homepage and that Jackson Racing SC looked more like a Twin Screw supercharger. But then maybe it's just a black painted Eaton M62 core.

Blimey, that's going to look angry out on track!!!!!! Nice work.

So what power are going to be running then? And at what weight?

I would have thought you'll be running at least, if not more power than me, similar weight and tonnes of aero. And I'll be in Pro. Which begs the question..........................
What the hell are you doing entering Club Challenge? Surely, you'll totally destroy everything too easily , no?

We may as well all go home then...

LOL, with 4 VXes entering at club level I expect the competition will feel a bit out-numbered.

Joe, are you 100% happy there is no requirement for a cage? Would be a shame to see you do all this work and get bumped at scrutineering due to the lack of one. Does Time Attack have special dispensation from the RAC MSA due to not being a racing series?

:yeahthat: I recall Jimmy's discussion with the scrutineer at Knockhill after he lost his hardtop. Not required Gary.

lol, aye..I should've added the caveat that Jimmy had cage fitted at that point so was ok. But not required if you have a roof.
