If he doesnt ( but i think he does) i do so yea, thats covered. Only problem is monitoring it as the scangauge doesnt save intake temps its just displayed live and id rather joe not be staring at a scanguage when he should be staring at the track. Even if we have to secure a camera looking at the temps and record a vid theough the seasion its better than having joe consentrating on it Edit : Even if we just take a look at the sangauge before he turns the engine off that might work, but it wouldnt be 'as' accurate.. Possibly might be enough tho.

any piece of data can be set to record Max / Min / Avg , I have a custom guage to record Max RPM , MPH and water temps.

If you want to log the inlet temps, rather than just get a min/max/avg number from Scangauge, you could plug a bluetooth OBD reader into the OBD port and log that and any other data you wanted to a mobile phone and some OBD software like Torque. Cheap form of data logger for the various OEM sensors. Won't work on an iPhone though, unless you jailbreak it and install a proper bluetooth software stack on it. I'm going to come over on Saturday for a while anyway, so if I can find my bluetooth OBD adaptor, I'll bring that and a spare Android phone with me and we can give it a whirl, if you want?

I think there might actually be a bluetooth OBD reader available for the iphone. But, from memory, as they had to get it officially approved by Apple (read - paid through the nose for the privilege) it was quite expensive. Like £120 and not £20.

Yep, Android phone (although older Nokia's N series phones can do it too) and a bluetooth OBD reader to stick in the OBD port. It'll work much better on the VXT ecu as that supports a faster communication protocol than the NA ecu does, so you should be able to either log more sensors/information or log stuff at a much faster rate. You might want to capture RPM, throttle position, boost or MAP (however that works) and IAT1 and IAT2 (if you have both). That will at least tell you what giving it some welly (or sustained welly) really does.

It's only a bit of halfway house between no logging and a proper setup like your Vbox with the plug-in logging upgrade but it will at least give you some data. Theoretically, you could probably export it and with some twatting about import it and overlay it on any video you've got. But that would probably be painful.

Can you have multiple OBD devices? or is it only 1 at a time?

I always thought it was just one device but I did stumble across something a few months ago that allowed you to connect up a second device at the same time but it was very expensive. Like $1500 or similar. :o

It rapidly starts heading that way if you want the nice, easy to use, integrated option. :(

Think it's more complicated than that and the signals need to be multiplexed.

You could. Not sure how much the hard disk in the laptop would enjoy it though. Still, at least you know once it's under the seat, it's never coming back out under it's own power again. :o
