I was thinking about building my VX into a race car but that thread reminder makes me want to give up before I start.

Can I ship my car to Lithuania and do you have a spare few weeks?

It is possible. This is what we are doing since the 1980s. Only should be agreed in advance what level of changes you want to have.

Do you have any project pictures of how you made your new fenders?

I think they are useless as almost all cam profiles are hydro ones. The few exploded lifter you can see on this engine is just due to valve float as the LNF is pushing the stock springs (which are the same since the 147hp Z22SE/L61) to their limits, especially with some boost and a higher rev limit

I need something like those for my GMR SC cams... Too small base circle due to being regrinds... thumbsdown (Or other suggestions? Loose shims don't work in the Saab head.)

Custom camshafts manufacturer advised me to use them

Try the US forums. Not sure on these adjustables (pricing?) but there are also solid versions that you have to machine down to get the correct lash. (Lots of assembling/measure/disassembling needed though to set these up...)

The BLE lifters are not that expensive
http://www.cimotorsp...avalier-cobalt/

the solid ones you have to machine are GM Racing stuff made by Bates Engineering
http://batesengineering.info/

Honestly, considering the flexibility you can have on an engine with dual VVT and (programmable) boost... I won't bother with cams needing them. Just use a nice hydro profile, ZZP have some nice LNF stuff that can make way enough power for the gearbox and the chassis ;)

The problem with using hydraulic lifters is the rev range is limited due to valve float, I image for a race car like Marytnas he wants to be able to get the revs as high as possible. I don't know about the Z22SE engine, but on the Z20LET the valves (with standard springs) can start to float from 7500 revs. Maybe the LNF stock springs in his new engine are have a higher poundage rate?
