Alternate non boring route from Eurotunnel , as recommended by the Lotus guys

My link

That is indeed a fine route with excellent roads, done it many times but it will take you A LOT longer.

Do the French do BBQ? :o

At that hotel, it would probably be £50 per head.

we do bbq but i don't think the mercure chain hotel will do it anyway and wouldn't give you permission to do it .......
myself i only need sunday night meal and will go where i went last years as it was good food and better than a bloody pizza

I'm with Fab on that one, the food was excellent but if you have to use the toilet just knock on the door before entering

it will be much quicker not having to stop at every petrol station for Joe, or icecreams for AliM

I've done that route many times, and it's very nearly as fast as the autoroute where you have to respect he speedlimit.

Welcome aboard Joe the Cabin Boy

Back on topic.

Well it looks like the Newhaven - Dieppe is going to be the fun route. I reckon it's saves about £20 in fuel and a few euros in tolls but it costs £120 to cross???

It's 100 miles to Dover for me and 30 miles to Newhaven so a saving of 140miles to be had. For me it works and you would need to do the sums yourself to see if it works out. The downside of Newhaven to Dieppe for me is the time spent on the ferry, it just seems to take forever.
