42 minutes from my workplace to your house, I would need to go in in the morning to sort some things out but could come down midday-ish to help on either wed or thurs next week if you need a hand.

Smashing. Clam is off, exhaust is done (I hope) just needs the box, flywheel, brakes and gear cables sorting now.

Wednesday is probably the day to pick.

Seems daft to come down from Northampton just to have to get back up Seb. Tell you what, lets see how Wednesday goes and if I am up against it big time come Thursday, we can get you down here.

Yeah sure, I'll sort everything out wed then leave all of thurs free if necessary so I can stay into the evening.

Merely cutting and rewelding the U bend flange, new steering coupling, fit two tyres, oil change and wash doesn't really cut it in this company does it? I am departing UK this Sunday evening to up the pressure a little bit, abandoning car somewhere near CDG for a few days.

Removed my engine today and found one of my cv boots has somehow twisted and chaved its self as its been twisted up. Its got a small hole in but vauxhall cant get me a boot untill tues. Looks like i maybe making the trip with a split boot as i cant see me having time to fit it, especially with my never ending list of jobs still to do. Just ordered a high vis jacket from ebay

Inboard or outboard boot? I managed a year with a universal sticky boot on. But when I found my proper replacement had split the day before Donnington, I couldn't get the stick boot on again, for love nor money.

Inner boot on the pax side ive had 3 in the past 6 months and always used a cheaper universal boot. They just seem too soft and keep splitting, theres nothing there for it to catch on. Bit the bullet today and ordered one from vauxhall for 56 pound + vat :flame:

Max, are you looking at getting another vx/Lotus then? Can't imagine yours will ever be road legal again.

I can get my car back on the Road, I did look into it some time ago & it's not a problem! But, I wouldn't get it put back as I don't think I'd get much use out of it. I may however take another car, which would be road legal too.

...and I'm not looking to get rid of my VX!

Dave,

When is your car getting it's big power upgrade? I hope it doesn't mess up the power delivery & drivability of your current setup.
