another two stroke nut...
19years ago
Yamaha RD250LC sold it to a guy who robed two patrol stations the day he bought it from me.

18years ago
Yamaha RD350LC only 5 month , then sold it
17years ago until last year
Yamaha RD350 YPVS first I bought one, in the following years I had a few more of them as spare parts.
In the second year she was completly rebuild, I changed the internals of the front suspension and the rear suspension was upgrated with a fully adjustable damper.
Drove nearly 100000 miles in 10 years with the same frame, ever 25000miles the pistons where changed.
Did always get home with her even with a hole in one piston she carried me home.
Had a few more of them and started to do a RGV conversion, but after I fitted all the parts I sold the whole package. And started with the CB900Boldor
Two years ago i sold all my spare engines and last year I sold the RD350s which where left over to Luxemburg.
Honda CB350four 12years ago
bought it 23 years unused with 4000miles on, cleaned and checked it and drove in 2 years 20000 miles then sold it
10years ago until today
Honda CB900 Boldor drove 2000miles with it, then it was completly rebuild with front suspension, wheels an brakes from CBR600 PC25, on the backside I installed a swing arm from the Kawasaki Zephir 750 and adapted the wheel and the brake from the CBR600
At the moment it needs more power a new painture and someone to drive it.
Drove only 1000miles during the last 4 years.

before selling them to race motorbikes for two years. I raced a GSXR600 SRAD, a Ten Kate tuned
We have our own .org champion in dan600 who owns a VXR. In 2010 he was the MRO Supersport 600 champion in his first year back in racing after quite a few years out. He did it from the back of his work van with very little sponsorship and, I would imagine, put quite a few noses out of joint.

Kawasaki ZX9R C2, good bike after set-up, brakes were rubbish but ok bike
Interesting.....
I've owned some of the best offerings from Japan and Italy in 33+ years of riding, and I'd say my old ZX9R (C1) was the best of the lot - simply because it did everything, ie, I could keep up with all the Litre+ boys on track, yet could also spend hours in the saddle without needing a trip to the osteopath (unlike a Blade or R1). The big Zed was also well made and ultra reliable (unlike a Mille I owned). Interestingly I sold the bike when it was 4 years old with 12K miles on the clock to a local guy who still owns it, and it's now covered nearly 70K and still looks as good as ever.
Agree on the setup though, the rear shock was crap and was junked on mine in favour of a nice Ohlins item.

I told the wife (ex) that the ZX9 was a sports tourer and you're spot on about it being able to do everything. I bought it new and traded after two years for the Blade 929 and it had over 33000 miles in that time. Did track days and long weekends in Wales and a Euro trip, everyday commuting taking the long way home. The bike looked great in Blue and would polish up great.
The Blade I have now is a pretty bike but I'll reserve judgement on it until I've done a lot more miles. The 929 Blade was an awesome bike out of the box and put it's power down much better than the Zed. Only had to change the oe tyres.
Candy Blue....

After the '9' I got the 12R which was stupid fast, only problem was mine was the early A1 model and Kawasaki hadn't sorted the fuel injection mapping out so it was a little tricky on low speed corners.
Got an old Zephyr at the mo' which I'm trying to restore.... whenever the weather picks up.

I'm looking at doing my test and getting on a SV650S or maybe one of the 400CC sports bikes. Even riding a gutless 125 was amazing fun in the summer!
Go for it!....

I've been lucky enough to own some nice motors down the years, but Even the VX (as good as it is) could never quite match the thrill of my bikes.
Also, having been a biker improves you as a car driver as you are MUCH more aware of the road surface and weather conditions.

I agree. After riding a bike you're completely aware of potholes, greasy roads, camber, drains e.t.c so the VX takes less punishment when I drive it! Far more thrills on a bike even compared to a car like the VX.

If you get a 400 go for a rvf400 as they are great bikes and go for ever and sound the nuts with the v4 motor, thats if your not to tall of course. The sv650 are ok ish maybe look at a kawasaki er650 the one i help build runs over 90bhp

we put a 650 engine into a yamaha fzr400 chassie, goes really well a picture of bike
