I know im walking into the Lions den with this one, altering how a VX looks but i can't quite decide for certain myself and a poll on here can't hurt... to much

Been busy making these vents out of fibreglass, and now they're finished im moving onto the next stage of the custom front clam...

I've had about 6 options in my head of how to do this, but ive narrowed it down to one of these three looks, I have an idea of which i prefer but let me know whats looking the best to you and add your vote if you kindly would :) I plan to cut holes behind the vents to allow air flow, ive heard the arch liner horror stories.

I don't want the 'keep it standard', or 'you're ruining it' comments as thats not gonna help me in any way  , the front ends not perfect and needs paint and repair anyway so im doing something a little different to suit my personal preference, its just a case of 1, 2 or 3.

chinky chinky

:yeahthat: I had thought that too

...but 3: I don't like the way the fog lights look, and 1: The original V stands out too much.

Number 1 for me, then number 2 for my second choice. You thought about the cheap replica steinmetz grill instead of the v grill as i think it would look smart with number 1

I like the fogs in the 'grille'..... just slap some black vinyl on in the right shape and jobs a carrot with less lasting mods that will be a ***** to fix when (not if) the the front end gets smashed in

If anyone thinks it looks like a ferrari then fair enough although thats not my intention in the slightest...

Vauxhall seemed to have given up on the design when it comes to the front end, drilling two great big holes and slapping fogs behind, the fogs imo don't tie into the front clam design in anyway, and that whole area bugs me as its a solid square of fibreglass ripe for stone chips. Thats my reason for changing things up front :)

Everyones comments taken on board, im not sure if the vee and the vents look a little cluttered? although part of me like keeping the badge.

Haggi im not a fan of the steinmetz/sten replica grill, again i dont think it ties in with the car, the VX has mesh on the bonnet and boot section so i think id like to stick with mesh, appreciate the idea though.

VXT Tim i had tried a chop with the bar through the middle after the topic on here a while back, but it looked a little 'to much' so didnt even save the chop.

Thats quite an interesting idea...

Sitzenboots - Ive already made those vents now so it would be a nightmare to change the shape, what about slightly bigger fogs?

slindborg -

will be a ***** to fix when (not if) the the front end gets smashed in

That had crossed my mind, to the point of where i thought about making two lots of vents 'incase' lol but i think if the front end gets smashed for any reason ill just go back to an oem lower clam section.

Thanks for all the ideas :)
Ive got the same poll up on my local forum to get a different perspective from a different group.

 you mean you are asking a load of yooooths who thing the vx is a hypercar and tehrefore if you did a steaming turd on the front end they would still jizz themselves....

I know what my local crooooooooze forum is like and fcuk me you'd be better off getting advice from a Cat

Tbh it all looks 'good' just if it is functional or 'pretty' you are going for influences the opinion.

BUT as with all this kind of thing, its your car, your money, do what the fcuk you want. IF you are doing it to please others then you really need more help than simply picking car looks

Number 1, with no V-Grill. Put a brushed ally strip across the top of the middle grill instead ;) ala Irmscher grills.

Do you need front fog lights for the MOT? At least if they were fitted as standard they might still be required? I prefer 2. I quite like the look of it, good luck to you.
